Photographer’s Note
Sorry if this gets repetitive and hope that you’ll enjoy the 4th and last one of the series... (This is about the guard of a garden, sitting in the darkness of his shelter when it rained heavily).
He had just placed on his bench one of the green oranges that were given to us by the gardener : people like to eat green fruits in some countries, something that our weak European stomachs don't like to digest, hence the title (NB :this is not an apple !) - I accepted the forbidden fruit out of politeness, but did not eat it, specially that I had had un upset stomach for 2 days ; gave it later to my hostess who was very happy and ate it in front of me.
But of course, this is more about the man, his quiet, serious, gentle and wise look ; like on the other photos, sometimes I think he smiles, sometimes not, according to my mood - and like the 3 other posts of the same man, I did many adjustments because of light problems (again, small camera, ISO 100 in the dark etc). The other ones : leaning on his stick and with his cat on his lap).

Bonsoir Catherine

Hi Catherine. Great low-light indoors shot. Like something from medieval times. The atmosphere is fabulous and the green orange addes a spark of colour into the otherwise dark scene.
In fact, all oranges start off green, don;t they? Do these ones never go 'orange' or do they ripen more slowly / later than the ones we see in our supermarkets?
Anyway, great shot. Kind regards, Paul.

Bonjour, Catherine.

excellent

Hi Cath. Liked the sharpness and the contrast -- grains notwithstanding. Well composed with clarity.
The look appears to be confident than what had been conveyed through "Silence" - your earlier shot of the guard. Ultimately the fruit surfaced again though with a 'forbidden' tag! It is said that the forbidden fruit though tastes sweeter, spoils faster as well. Just like that the sin is not harmful because it is forbidden, but it is forbidden because it is harmful. Enjoyed. Regards.

What a great photo session that you did here. The magical light was dificult to handle but that's what happen inside churches as well. The fact is that the grain gave you beautiful textured pictures and it seems that I'm not alone considering the success of all shots. The title is perfect and it's great that you capture the orange in that right spot, which makes it the main subject here - being so close to a human subject, that's quite something. Almost looks like a partial desaturation, but I know it's not. Confratulations.
Wishes for a Happy New Year,

Hi Cath,
Repetitive?
Well yes, but each time you present this man in the dark, there is some another approach, here them being the green orange and the grains touch. The light is so nice and interesting that, it looks like his face is being illuminated by the forbidden fruit. Your note is great as always.
Best wishes and also, congrats for your 200th...

This is an excellent shot. The grainy texture works really well. The composition is fantastic, the man and the single apple. A mystic pendant around his neck and his challanging gase into the lense. This could be your Monalisa

Hi Catherine,
Since I was away this is my first time seeing this serie, so I do not find it repetitive. In fcat, even if you show ten different angles or expressions of this man, I would love seeing them.
the noise adds a nice feeling to the photo.
Excellent work
