Festival of the light 2007
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French] |
During festival time the Antoine-Rivoire square returns to its cultivating origins.
In fact, in times past, Presqu’île was nothing but marshes and stagnant water, boasting particularly rich and varied flora.
The confluence of the Rhône and the Saône rivers was gradually pushed southwards, making room for the current urban design. An illuminated, mysterious garden grows in the intimacy of the square.
The magnificent plane tree that has covered and protected this square for many years will be magnified by the light, taking its place as a foundation and pedestal. Its foliage floods the square and is projected onto nearby facades.
Symbols of life, the tree and nature invade the space, soothing the city’s overly
mineral appearance.
Grotesque animals, fossilised on religious buildings, will come along for the party and surprise strollers. |

Bonsoir Alexandre,
amicalement

Hi Alex,
This lighting image of flora and water are mysterious and in poetic flavour, good capture in a decisive moment.
