A couple of dinosaur models, next to Turtle Rock in Terelj National Park, about 50 km north east of the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator. It looked like this 'ger' camp was near deserted, so I stayed at Mirage Ger Camp around the corner, instead.

Tyrannosaurex Rex & Ankylosaurus appear to be the 2 saurian subjects here.

Hello Chris,

Strange things to see but they certainly seem to fit the landscape surrounding them. When I was in primary school I had an obsession with dinosaurs, and recognized these two immediately :). From memory many species have been unearthed in China and Mongolia, particularly in the Gobi Desert. Reminds me a bit of the sculptures at the Queensland Museum. Good colours and contrasts.

Matt

Hi Chris
excellent picture!!
Good framing and POV. Sharpness is perfect. Sky is really beautiful with all these details.
I like it a lot
Thanks for sharing
Merry Christmas
Regards
Kevin

Hi Chris. These dinasaurs look very realistic, more so than some others seen. Ideal POV to show them as they should be with the slopes and rocks behind. Well shown and good notes. TFS. Murray.

That is an excellent way of showing those monsters in their “natural environment”. Of course, many million years later the earth surface is not necessarily the same and most likely very different. I like your picture very much for the good colours and POV. Well done.
Antonio

Hi Chris,
looks like a pleasant landscape for the integration of the dinosaurs. Good view on the slope with the two before the rocks with a lot of dynamic. I like the blades of green grass.

Olá Chris, in the thumbnails I thought about Jurassic Park...Lovely dinosaurs. They look quite real and it's fantastic the place where they are exhibited. I bet they would give good close-up shots...

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Hello Chris,
They look quite realistic these dinosaurs and they certainly fit in with the surrounding countryside. I like the point of view here and the diagonal hill line that nicely divides the image between sky and land. Very good tones and clarity.

Hello Chris,

These dinasaurs look very realistic, a compliment for the maker but also for the photographer.
Very nice area with the slope of the mountains in background. I like the diagonal line oblique about the picture.
Thanks for sharing.

Merry Chrismas and a Happy New Year,
John.

Hi again Chris, it looks fantastic and marvelous, it is like a trip in the depth of the past.
Have a nice time
Evangelos

Bonsoir Chris
Unusual to see dinosaurs ;) which fit perfectly in this scene and add depth with behind the rocks creating a nice diagonal. Clouds are great and give a dynamic impact.
Wish you all the best!
Marilyn

cool.

someone has to built such dinos in my region.
;-)

Hi Chris,
Amazing shot! it makes me feel as if you had been transported back in time when real dinosaurs reigned on Earth. I don't know why these models were placed here, but I must admit that the surrounding lanscape is just perfect! It must be surprising to come across these models if you don't expect it!
I wish you a Merry Christmas.
Brigitte

Hello Chris
Mongolia is one very intresthing country and this figure are good to...

I wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Cheers,Braca

Great ! Maybe made in fiber glass, but is it the perfect camouflage painting or is it the weather ? they look almost natural with that spotty "dress", less artificial than one of your last posts with a "ger" on a stage with wheels on the side - still, both posts are interesting, in the way that it shows how people in Mongolia have decided to inform the visitors... TFS !
And Merry Christmas !
Cath.

Wow... very strange, very unique. They melt so well in the environment. Excellent catch with great light and colours.

Hello Chris,
Strong diagonal composition and a couple of strange sculptures!
Interesting to see them placed in nature, at least they make unusual subjects for photography...

Hi Chris. This is surreal. But I like it. I'm happy for you that these were only fibreglass models...
