Photographer’s Note

Here is a picture taken just under the footbridge linking two of the many buildings (the M01 and the M30) of Airbus Industries at Saint-Martin-du-Touch near Toulouse.

This footbridge has been built to link the new building M30 to the existing site of Airbus. This is the place were the A300 - A320 - A330 - A340 - A380 and A400M airplanes are designed.

Every evening when I go back home I pass near this footbridge and I thought it would be nice to start a little serie dedicated to Airbus company.
The objective won't be an advertisement of this company but a way to focus on the economical significance of Airbus for the region of Toulouse.

So all of us living and working in Toulouse are "hanging from the sky" !

Voici une image prise juste en dessous de la passerelle reliant deux des nombreux immeubles (le M01 et le M30) d'Aibus Industries à Saint-Martin-du-Touch près de Toulouse.

Cette passerelle a été construite pour relier le tout nouveau bâtiment M30 du reste du site Airbus. C'est l'endroit où sont conçus les avions A300 - A320 - A330 - A340 - A380 et A400M.

Chaque soir quand je rentre chez moi je passe devant cette passerelle et me dis que ça serait pas mal du tout de commencer une petite série à propos du constructeur d'avions Airbus sur TE.
L'objectif n'étant pas d'en faire de la pub, mais juste de montrer l'importance de ce constructeur dans la région, un véritable poumon économique (Quand Airbus tousse, c'est tout Toulouse qui s'enrhume).

Nous sommes donc tous, Toulousains, "suspendus au ciel" !

Trés bon cadrage mettant en position forte ce pilier qui nous guide de part ces cables au coeur meme de la photo.
Belle diagonale trés interessante.

Tres belle composition David.
La diagonale partant du coin superieur droit ainsi que les filins forcent a focaliser sur le pont et le mettent en valeur.

Le réussite de la photo du viaduc de Millau n'était bel et bien pas un accident, la maitrise est renouvelée ici. La composition est très agréables, la lumière douce. J'attends avec plaisir la série sur Airbus :)

Great graphical photo, David. The main part of the bridge makes a fine diagonal, and the steel ropes and the triangular pillar of the bridge add to the impact. Wonderful perspective, and good clarity and colors in your shot. Looking forward to more from the series you're announcing in your note :-)

C'est certain qu'il faut montrer ce qu'est Airbus et il n'y a pas longtemps, j'ai lu que Virgin Atlantic avait commandé 13 Airbus A340... Je pense que ça va donc pour l'emploi ds la région...
quant à la photo elle même, l'angle de vue est génial, le cadrage est parfait tout comme la netteté et les couleurs. Bravo!

Quand j'avais une dizaine d'années, en visite chez des cousins, nous avions visité ce site. De mémoire, il y avait bien un vaste hangar et pis c'est tout !
J'aime bien ta photo, on dirait un voilier à quai. L'angle de prise de vue est bien choisi et la compo est équilibrée, même si le petit triangle inférieur à droite me gêne un peu.

Wonderful image and fine idea for a short series of images. Excellent post production work here of a distinctive composition. Colors and details are beautifully rendered and you manage the geometry of the image very well. Lines coming to corners show great attention to detail. Fine work David.

Very good point of view. Great composition. I like the way the bridge moves into the frame and then out and then back in with the tower. The lines and colors are captured excellently. It is very graphic in appearance. Very sharp and clear. Nicely done.

Le cadrage est millimétrique avec ces lignes qui partent du coin supérieur droite et de l'inférieur gauche.
La lumière est très agréable et bien maîtrisée.
Par contre je me pose une question: ayant visité Airbus Industries il y a quelques années, les consignes au sujet des photos étaient très strictes "absolument interdit" même les bâtiments.

Hi David, cool closeup picture, you put it very well into the frame. For me the main attraction is the repetition of the squares with the windows and the bridge in the contradiction with the "V" within the bridge. Yours, Jan
P.S.: As I'm living in Hamburg I probably will add some Airbus pictures later too as "we" assemble parts of the Airbus that are than "shipped" to Toulouse for final construction.

First, from the thumbnail, it looked like your diagonal line would be too much in the center of the composition, but then, after a while, it works... I could find the balance between the massive concrete brige and the light "airy" play of lines against the blue sky.

I see you have "something" with bridges, this one is very well done David!
