About the shot:

I don't quite remember where did I climb to get this one, but I the view was great I assure you :)
The shades were the cherry on top of my scene from that cloudy day.
AP program used, f/7.1, 1/160 (quite satisfying at 18mm to catch my breath) and ISO 100 for the minimum noise over shadows.

RAW Post Processing:

- Clarification till this one screamed!!!! (and the shades finally appeared)
- Custom sepia conversion
- Brightness and Contrast adjusted
- Layer duplication
- Soft focus fog effect, over layer (opacity=20% blending=overlay)
- Layers merged
- Neat Image to soften the sky
- Smart Sharpen USM filtering
- Frame added
- Title added
- and JPEG optimization as usual for TE use.

to be honest, I don't think this is one your best shots. although technically impeccable, the photo does look a bit plain to me, I guess I find the large ares - the water and the wall - uninteresting, especially in sepia conversion. I think the colour version was more visually appealing with the warm light on the wall and sun rays more distinct. and since I know how good you are at photography, Stelios, I think I'm setting higher standards for you :)

i think this is the best one stelio, from the castle... you know i like sepia a lot, may be that's why... the bourtzi looks sooo small from up there:)... amazing light on the sea... a well cought moment i think...

Στέλιο καλημέρα,
ωραία η θέα από τα ψηλά του Παλαμιδίου.Το Sepia που χρησιμοποίησες δραματοποιεί το όλο σκηνικό.Το τοίχος έχει φωτογραφηθεί τέλεια αλλά οι ακτίνες του ήλιου δημιουργούν κάτι σαν μουνζούρα.Γι'αυτό θα προτιμούσα την έχρωμη έκδοση στην οποία οι ακτίνες του ήλιου πέφτουν πιό ομαλά,χρωματικά εννοώ.

Εξαιρετική επιλογή του ασπρόμαυρου και ως συνήθως τέλεια η επεργασία της φωτογραφίας για να δώσεις αυτό το εντυπωσιακό αποτέλεσμα. Εκπληκτική γωνία λήψης και προοπτική, τέλεια διαχείριση του φωτός, με τις ακτινες στον ουρανό να εντυπωσιάζουν! Συγχαρητήρια!

Belle photo de la vue en NB de ces rampards du château et de cette vue sur cette baie superbe vue ainsi d' en haut. Bonne netteté qui laisse bien voire les rayons qui descendent du ciel en éventail et se répendent sur la baie.La vue très lointaine sur cette ville donne a votre photo une très bonne profondeur de champs.
Je vous souhgaite a vous et votre famille une très bonne et heureuse année 2008, je souhaite que vous ne postez plus pour le moment pour une raisons de photos, pas de problèmes de santé ou de famille. J' espère votre retourd bientôt.

i like this capture of yours. to be more exact, i like the play of light and sunrays and how you have noticed how matching are the textures of the castle wall and the waves in the sea. good choice to go monchrone here.

Η sepia version είναι νομίζω η καλύτερη. Συγχίζει λίγο το καδράρισμα, ψάχνω το θέμα. Αρχίζω από το δέντρο, πέφτω σε τοίχο αρχίζω από τον τοίχο δεξιά, πέφτω στη θάλασσα. Το παλαμίδι μια μικρή λεπτομέρεια στο κάδρο. Άριστα για το σκαρφάλωμα!

γεια σου Στέλιο,μια άλλη όψη από το Παλαμήδι με πολύ δυνατά στοιχεία που το κάνουν να φαντάζει αγέρωχο κοιτάζωντας τα πάντα σαν ανώτερη δύναμη !τέλειο σημείο λήψης!
