Photo taken at Chinguetti at sunset (explaining this red tones on the picture).
Foreground is the diesel motor of the generating unit which is about to be changed.
I found funny to find this big motor simply put on the street.

Photo prise a Chinguetti au coucher du soleil (expliquant les tons rouges de l image).
Au premier plan se trouve l ancien groupe electrogene de la ville qui est sur le point d etre change. Il est simplement pose dans la rue sans que ca n ait de choquer personne. J aimais bien l opposition entre ce moteur et les passants en habit traditionnel.

I liked the red tones a lot yves, giving the photo that extra dessert feeling. I agree it is indeed very funny to see a working gnerator of that size just put on the sands and pronto...nothing like it might look ugly or it might be dangerou for the kids etc. ...
but it is like it is, isn't it, other cultures other habits.
Like also the dynamic given by those 4 guys passing by.
