[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Masjid of Amr ibn al-As (Arabic: جامع عمرو بن العاص), also called the Mosque of Amr, was originally built in AD 642, as the center of the newly-founded capital of Egypt, Fustat. The original structure was the first mosque ever built in Egypt, and by extension, the first mosque on the continent of Africa.(wikipedia.)
It was refurbished few decades later but they kept some of the original framework (woods) and then it was refurbished-extended few hundred years later, again they kept the wooden frames on top of the mihrab as old relics, some of these pillars were imported from India and tiles and woods and craftmanship from other countries. Its a beautiful Masjid, with alot of history, The Great Imam Shafi'ee prayed here too.

Hello, Syed -

An interesting photo, especially with the note. But it's tilted, something easily corrected - see the WS I've posted. (There are a couple of ways to make this fix; I chose the one I'm used to.) It would also have been more interesting if you'd been able to put a person or two in the image.

Points for the note.

Dan
