The day is still gray and the wind blowing the snow a bit but the beauty is amazing. The brown black bare wood is covered in it's white winter coat and everyone gets prepared for the holidays.

This is sooooo good!! I tried taking pictures like this but it didn't work out nearly as clear. Fantastic capture and a picture that makes us 'feel' the cold and the wind. Excellent!! TFS

Hi Greg,
Interesting composition of a documentary weather photo, distinct image in a dim environment, detail to see the snow blowing by wind, well done.

Hi Greg,
The snows are coming early this year, not till mid Feb did we get any significant snow fall last year. I think we can blame you for bringing the early winter weather although last year it got wicked cold late in Feb. and March. That being said this is a very dramatic capture of blinding weather that we are challenged with here in the Northeast.
Regards, Tom

Hi Greg,
An amazing and rare capture of "the Winter". A beautiful compo.
I'll remember it everytime I'll complain about the cold, like I did yesterday evening, when it was 5 deg. C (40 F).
Regards, José.

Hello Greg,
the snow is coming down so thick, it's marvelous to see how it has created varying degrees of visibility. I really like the way the white out has affected the colours and shadows in the background. Very beautiful.
Regards.
Stella

Pretty amazing the range of tones in this basically monochromatic shot.
It's not what I'd be going for, I like too much big time heavy colors, but... I truly like what I see and I appreciate your effort.
You did a perfect job at pinning down snow and overall atmosphere.
You have a great weekend, buddy.
Fulvio.

Hi Greg,
Good capture of the heavy snow fall and the house in the background makes this picture
interesting.
Like this picture alot.
Bravo!!!!

Bonsoir Greg,
Une tempête de neige, c'est l'hiver !. J'aime beaucoup cette image, avec le gris et le blanc, les flocons de neige sont vraiment gros, on les voit sur l'image.
Belle image
Amitiés

hello Greg

so, you braved out with your camera in that storm? i didn't. stayed safe inside (we could go home early from work) and wrote some TE critiques, lol...

very moody, your picture: winter, dark-mood like moody. i like the falling snow forming continuous lines due to your rather long exposure.
if i may ask, what were you using your polarizer for in this situation? i mean, there could not have been too much "glints" to control so the reason must have been different.

in any case, my compliments and TFS
kristaps

Hi Greg!

Excellent winter scene, great capture of the snow falling and great composition. I think that an increase of contrast would make this even better! Anyway, congratulations!

Hercules

Greg,
I'm sure that you did this shot from indoor. No one would expose a D200 to this type of snow fury, right? I did once something like that up at Yosemite and since then I always carry around a special cover for the camera, although far from being ideal. A big umbrella is probably still the best solution.
Cheers, Peter
