A not so quiet English pub, the Harrow Inn at Thurmaston, rocks to the sounds of the 'Ded' Hot Chilli Peppers, a tribute band who pull the music off really well - this guy seems able to play and keep the music going whatever else he's doing at the time - quite amazing really. This poor girl didn't seem to know what to do next but he did as the serenade went on for a good couple of minutes and was a real crowd pleaser.

The gigi was to launch the ticket sales of Glastonbudget 2008 - Europe's biggest tribute band festival.

Difficult and dark conditions but desite the low light I was able to get 1/80th of a second here enough to capture the moment without any movement blur.

Have a good week!

A lovely moment very well captured. I like the mood and the emothion here. A lovely composition that brings out the intrinsic beauty of the image with some amazing colours and lovely textures. the contrasts work fine as well while the lights and other parameters are greatly managed. good work with a superb pov and perspective.

Humorous scenery but smart photo. Perfect moment to push the shutter.
Regards.

Hi Kevin,
Wonderful mood picture. Great atmosphere, lovely smile.
I want the same level of quality without flash... It's a pity the D200 doesn't offer it!
Well done
Marc

ha! a classical "no flamboyant colours, fancy photo"...a thing to stop by for a while and try to streach you brain for a moment...not an easy thing to do!...
i tell you - i get frustrated with this te thing...i've been for a while...or rather - i am pi$@#$ off strongly and i dont know when i'll be back with the photos...
----------
be there, be the part of that event, be close to those people... i envy you that party...!
so natural but on the other hand -so unusual with that guitar held in vertical...

Hi Kev,
Special interaction between the player and the girl. And the guitar is indeed in funny position. Excellent shot on difficult light. I think colour balance is slightly greenish.
Kari

Nice moment Kev, for us at least, she looks as if the ground would swallow her up. The low light is so well captured.

Hello Kev,
So that old English pub was full of a hot Californian wind!...i like the moment you catch here, head to head smiling but not in the same way...not sure the girl is happy to be the 5 minutes star.
Watching your today (blue)picture at 3200 iso i find this one less "clean"...depends of the lightning...
cheers,
vincent

As if it wasn't embarrassing enough there's a guy with a camera capturing every cringe making moment. Great timing, and nicely framed. You've frozen the action perfectly. Best regards, Roberto

Hi Kev,

Haha, I do like the detail of the condensation on the windows dripping down. Perfectly pins down the heated atmosphere inside ;-).
Wow, a tribute band festival! That must be good fun to go to!! Do they have a website?

Greetings! Dennis

Keeeeev !!!
A genious one...
My english is too poor...
But you know...
This atmosphere, this relationship...
This compo and this light...
Beautiful work...
A very poor critique...
I am sorry but I am really impressed...
Best regards. Grazyna.

Now this one goes straight to my favorites. An amazing shot, funny, dynamic, empathetic, and a wonderful decisive moment. Amazing how deep the dof is even in this low light.

A great one in my eyes...despite the low light so much to see, those expressions on the faces are wonderful, and funny and many other things:-) the whole set is, what a mood, the colors velvety and rich, the reflections on the glass, superb work, my compliments...

TFS
Kind regards
Michèle,
