I like this shot very much! you know why? , Because it is generally known that “a picture never lies” but you know what? This one does, and it does in style, I will explain why.

When looking at this shot you would think that these people were standing on a flat concrete surface, well, they are but if you look closely at the bottom half of the photo you see that it seems to divide by a line, well, from that line down the floor is about 30 feet higher or 11 meters higher than the top side of the shot which is the next floor where I am standing taking this shot see HERE brilliant elusion. The crack is real and not painted on the floor, although its man made it is still a crack where you can twist your foot if you not careful where you`re going, it was created by the Colombian artist Doris Salcedo and is being presently exhibited in the Tate Modern Gallery in London.

very interesting shot, but i don't understand what is it...

Excellent graphics and optical illusion at the same time, I guess u picked the best place to take the shot from cause I saw the ws and many things cleared up to me. This is an excellent piece of art, I understand why u like it so much, the best one i've seen today.
Gordana

Interesting crack as well as POV from a higher place. Yes, it doesn't seem to be at a different level. Nice photo.

Ciao Joao Paulo,
What unbelievable release, seems a true crack on the floor. Luckily you have furnished an excellent explanation in your notes. Really original and curious photo. Excellent also the ws. A great idea!

Paolo.

Hi Joao,
another one of the crack ! As a work of art, well, it's not exactly my cup of tea, but as a subject for photography it is... and this one is excellent. Well seen this pov from above, composition impeccable to me, so graphic and minimalistic, a true example of less is more...

Cheers,
TFS, Michèle

Hello Joao Paulo:

If it was not because explains that the floor is painted I had thought that was a matter of a fortuitous crack or caused by an earthquake. More than one start the transeuntes should be carried that do not know the work of this artist. I have visited the gallery and been able to see other photos.

Cordial greetings. Josep

Hi Joao,

very impressive shot. The minimalism is evident and well presented. This B&W with strong light and contrast works perfectly for the purpose. Well done!
Regards,
Carlos
PS: thanks for your words on my last post.

Ola Joao Paulo! Wonderful POV. Wonderful B&W. Beautiful composition. Fantastic effect. Best regard!

Hi Joao,

très belle galerie noir et blanc, avec de superbes jeux de lignes. Celle-ci est fort bien composée, avec ces personnages placés aux intersections des lignes.

Bom dia Joao! Your B&W is impressive! As for the rest, it's excellent too. I don't know how long you had to wait until those two people stopped right there, in the lightest part of the floor and the "junction" of the cracks, but they're the perfect detail to humanise and give scale to the photo. Good title too! I also appreciate the note and the WS.
TFS and best regards,
Inés

Hello Joao,
a work of art inspired by the earthquakes. Very artistic point of view and framing. Excellent realization and note. Cheer.
Have a nice evening

This is such a cracking shot (excuse the pun) & I cannot believe I missed it! Such clean lines & all the elements perfectly positioned. The optical illusion is very clever. Great B&W yet again. Best regards, Roberto
