Photographer’s Note
Rabat, extreme north-east point of the medina (Kasbah des Oudaïas).
Not much to see, I know, and a bit grainy...
They told me that they had been waiting for 3 years for rain but just 2 days after I had arrived from Belgium, it started pouring almost non stop for 5 days – I told them that this was the present I had brought from my country... They loved it so much that on Sunday, everyone was enjoying a walk under her or his umbrella… Except for a few ones, who relied on their friends : 4 persons under the same umbrella, on the right !
Photo taken when it was raining heavily, under my own umbrella... Just below that large terrace, you can see this scenery : surfers enjoying the waves.

Sakut Cath,

You came and came the rains. Me too join those rain-starved people in thanking you. Even though there is 'not much to see' as you modestly said, but we saw a lot Cath through this dizzling shot. The overcast sky with a hazy background, the puddles, the people under the umbrella -- well composed. Umbrellas not only give protection from rains but from privacy as well! Regards.

You really know how to seduce us, Cath - do you ?
One of the most romantic photos I've seen in months !!! (If not THE most romantic one ?)
Flawless, immaculate presentation...
Perfect for such theme...
Soft and mellow...
Even the rain was sent by gods to help you create such charmer...
Stay dizzy, dear gal...
It helps (:-))))

Salut Catherine,

Salut Catherine,
Wonderful meditative atmosphere. The emptiness of the place, the light, the sky, the rain... I sense a certain metaphor of pure friendship here. An extraordinary photo, even if technically the extreme UE of the people is discussable (maybe it results better this way...).
Amicalement, José.

This photo is interesting.Esp the big sky and small men with umberlla watching the rain gives a different perspective.

Olá Cath, your series of Maroccos is fascinating. Not only because of your usual portraits of local people, where we can enjoy and verify that you really interacted with them, but also the other normal stuff...And this one is quite creative and atractive. This is the proof that we still can make great photos under the rain. The detail of the window at left? Beautiful!

Hi Cath,
It was really heavily and yet you achieved awesome clarity. I like the way you've framed this shot, especially the building in the left. Beautiful shot.

Nice. I immediately thought of the French painter Eugene Boudin. Take a look:

Quelle ambiance !!

Bellissimo!
Ciao my dear!!

Hello Catherine
the portraits in your gallery are superb but I really like this sort of minimalist composition. Not only have you managed to take advantage of rather adverse shooting conditions but most of all you've produced a timeless type of image reminiscent of the paintings of Ingres.
Congratulations
