The was taken at a military medical assistance program in Kosovo/Kosova. This woman had been examined and treated for Dental. That is toothpaste in her hand that was given to her after her treatment.

Hey, Michael, that is a quite a bizarre scene. She seems so traditional. An apparition from another time. Yet there she has that plastic tube in her hand, as though it had appeared from the future. The photo has a certain uncanny aspect to it because of that. But the portrait itself is really well done. It has a kind of frank social documentary tone reminiscent of Walker Evans. Very well done. Best, -Hugh
