[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the Northern states of VN, due to the cold weather, there usually only one rice harvest per year compared to the fertile soil of the Mekong Delta of the South which yields 3 harvest per year. Up in Sapa, the same rule applies but due to the high elevation, the rice season starts at the end of April instead of the beginning. The water buffalo is still the main force to plow the field.

Very nice shot with good light and DOF. The background is may be too dark but I like the composition.

Wonderful capture Thien with nicely rendered colors and details. Your point of view gives us a delightful sense of this dramatic landscape with the fine lines of the rice patties etched into the green slopes. And in the foreground a scene as old as time of man and beast tilling the soil. Beautiful!

il y a tout pour plaire dans cette image .

Beautiful scene with nice flowing lines, the road in the background does a good job of collecting all the lines, rounding the composition and marking the edge of the cultivated space. There is a great sense of wholeness in this scene.
The strong light has washed the foreground colours out a little so I tried a workshop.

Very good picture with great view over the fields in the bacground, catching the buffalo with the worker is a great bonus.

Nice documentary shot (thanks for the note) and well composed.

Impressive shot looking down at the valley and showing the richness of the soil in a country that has such a rich culture too. Always amazing to see people working the land in such a way. I like the warm light on these two working hard.

A very interesting landscape Thien, captured from an excellent angle. The man plowing his field with the ox there is a sight on its own... Well captured!

It's great to see this as it fits very much with the "TE ethos"

Your picture has great qualities, a clear and well composed capture of the terraces, the green, the earth and of course, our farmer and water buffalo on center stage. Brilliant

Wow! Great angle here, Thien - you really showed the terraces in the background, as well as how high the fields are! The farmer and his carabao struggling to plow the field really represent how tough a farmer's job is. Great clarity and colors, though I would have preferred to have the upper left portion to be brighter. We have rice terraces here in our country too, and I'll try to take some pics next month. Tks for sharing. rgds.
