Gorges du Pont-du-Diable # 4 Photo

Fourth of a short series of shots taken last summer to show you this incredible place , hope you like .

From Wikipedia :
Situées sur le parcours de la dranse de Morzine, les gorges du Pont-du-Diable offrent un remarquable exemple d'érosion dans les préalpes calcaires du Chablais, en Haute-Savoie.

La rivière, alors qu'elle se trouvait déjà dans une vallée encaissée, a rencontré une barrière de calcaire — les rochers de la Garde — remontant au crétacé, puis recouvert à nouveau au jurassique. Cette configuration, a été érodée au fil du temps par cette rivière impétueuse, formant ainsi un splendide défilé.

Aujourd'hui, dans un environnement forestier exceptionnel, la dranse de Morzine s'engouffre dans cette fissure profonde en partie souterraine et dominée par une arche naturelle impressionnante : le pont du Diable.

Hi, Stefano. Your POV is very well chosne because it shows us how steep the gorges are. The contrast between the rock and the moss is interesting and tells uw this must be a rather damp place.

Hi Stefano,
Amazing view. The stairs bring Escher to my mind. Especially with this upwards angle that makes things a bit harder to conceive. And the rocks and colours are like from some fantasy book. I could imagine hobbits walking there. Never mind the modern steel stairs, safety is most important anyway.

Bellissimo punto di vista che premia l'ingegno dell'uomo ma che valorizza soprattutto la magia della natura.

Magnifique photo des "Gorges du Pont du Diable", c'est drôle parce que ici nous avons les "Portes de l'Enfer" avec une escalier de 300 marches avec des cascades le long de l'escalier.
J'aime bien l'escalier en S, la composition qui est excellente et les couleurs qui sont superbes.

ciao stefano!!ancora piu sorprendente, mi sto perdendo in mezzo alla tua galleria...qualcuno ha detto che sembrano le scale per gli inferi, ma a me sembrano piu le scale per il paradiso...con tutto quel verde!!!mi aspetto quasi di vedere spuntare uno gnomo!!

vraiment très intéressant ces photos de cet endroit et elles donnent envie d'y aller
J'aime bien celle-ci pour l'effet de relief donné par l'escalier et une belle lumière contrastée.
