Photographer’s Note

This is photo of the Sacred Way near the Ming Tombs. It begins at a stone archway, passes the Great Red Gate leading to the enbuilt for changling alone- it is was later flanked with stone statues of civil and military officials along with animals. These are well preserved valuable artifacts. This is looking back up towards the gate, where the path is lined with willow trees, however, unfortunetly the gate is just out of sight. You can see some of the animals either side.

A good perspectiveshot with nice soft colors.Its like a mirror with the V of the sky and this road.Great POV and nice non symetry.

un endroit qui se prête bien au cadrage que tu as réalisé avec ce POV qui donne cette perspective de fuite et l'impression d'un chemin qui ne finit jamais.

Hello Wilson,

I remember this site well, from a bus trip out to Badelung pass to see the wall. By choosing to present a symmetric, one-point perspective, you've created an endless image, of the lines of perspective converging at a vanishing point. Very good image, with excellent exposure.

what a great view down the alley with good sense of dephtness due to the coulmns in the foreground followed by the periodically placed lion statues. Despite the flat light you got a good light management.

I am always amazed that the Russian Bolsheviks and the Chinese communists, especially during the cultural revolution, didn't destroy all of the artifacts of their past, like many revolutionary zealots do. They must have had a half an I.Q. enough and just enough sense to preserve these old architectual treasures. Your composition and perspective is outstanding as usual and I love all of the regal Chinese lions guarding the Sacred Way. Outstanding!
