Photographer’s Note
There is still not much sign of winter in the Pentland Hills south of Edinburgh as this picture taken this morning testifies.
A strange pattern of mist rises slowly around a small hill and hazy winter sunshine adds a little colour to these rolling hills that bring so much pleassure to adjacent city dwellers.
Indeed 20 minutes from the capital city, you can wander for hours and not see a sole

Hi Chris,
I love the soft, gentle, pastoral colors (my one small issue with this is that the sharply contrasted dark bit of foreground jars me a bit out of the peace of the rest of the image) ..
I love the layers taking me back to a diffuse foggy infinity .. love the vastness of it .. the scale of those trees really adds a great deal .. very nice.
take care,
John

hello Chis,
lovely December image. I drove down the A93 from Braemar today and there was snow on the mountains. Further south I spotted scenes like this, little snaking clouds of mist, but was unable to get a picture. So I was pleased to see this. Well done,
regards
Bev
