Photographer’s Note

The grapple yarder operator is hauling logs up a sidehill to the landing. There is an excavator at the bottom of the sidehill acting as a backspar for the grapple yarder.
The operator hauls in a load then stops his machine. He leaves the cab and walks back to the end of the grapple yarder to talk to the loader operator. You can see the loader's grapple hanging in the air. Below the logging site you can see Alberni Inlet - Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
