Hi Marc. I think the mask details focused in on the left really stand out with the background thrown out like this. The blurred details in the background has me wondering what the place is like. Very nice capture Marc.

La caverne d'Al-Baba redécouverte.
Une photo qui présente des difficultés technique, des zones de lumières et d'autres obscures.Pas facile de gérer ceci.
Ta solution est élégante, en focusant sur le masque du premier plan dans son coin, avec l'ouverture sur le magasin,où tu utilises le manque relatif de lumière, couplé avec une profondeur de champ réduite, ce qui crée un aura de magie et de mystère.
La présence de la vendeuse, au fond du magasin, centrée vers le bas,nous situe sur le lieu, mais quel capharnaüm.Surement une belle visite.
Vous en avez améné un souvenir.

Very original photo of this interesting shop in Venice. While I do love your focus, the interior of the shop is a bit too dark, making the focused mask actually stand out less. My eyes are drawn to the woman at the counter instead of the focused mask. Maybe if you had captured the entire mask it would have worked a bit better.

But otherwise, a unique shot, with good lighting on the actual mask.

Hey Marc,

Interesting note about the history of 'masks'. The concept still exists when the term 'mask' is used when people are pretentious or live in a fantasy world when one can be someone else. I want to be jolly but I think I don't need a mask for sure...

Elle est pleine de mystère celle-ci, notamment du fait de ton choix de focus ainsiq eu d'avoir coupé ce masque en deux.... J'aime la qualité de ton bokeh même si je regrette quelque peu des couleurs trops intenses...
En tout cas encore une belle création Venitienne... Dommage que tu ne publies pas plus...

Hi Marc - like this shot! Particularly the left side. The colour impact, clarity and detail really stand out. Not totally sure about so much of the middle being dark and blurred. But it does contribute to the atmosphere quite a lot! It's a very effective shot. Rgds, Leilani

Ces masques sont de vrais oeuvres d'art. Heureusement, vous êtes assez artiste vous-même pour en faire une photo qui restitue leur côté mystique. J'ai toujours été impressionné par les masques. Pendant 10 minutes j'ai fixé cette photo avant de pouvoir la commenter...j'ai été hypnotisé.
