Photographer’s Note
Trout Lake Park, in Vancouver. I earlier posted another shot of the same place, but in the vertical format. It's interesting to see the differences between the two shots as the vertical shot has a good sense of depth to it, as it gets closer to the foreground. This one has a much great sweep and sense of space, and is not as closed in as the vertical format. In both cases, the beautiful red leaves of the Canadian Maple Tree are the star attraction.

Hello Alvin,
A fiery representation of the changing seasons. What I love about it is the contrast between green/reds and the lone figure wandering down the lane. The curve draws the eye along until it comes into contact with the figure. Exceptional textures are seen in the bark, esp. in the closest tree trunk. Wonderful clarity and good mysterious mood, made evident by the lingering fog.

A beautiful, beautiful composition. I like the way both the path and leaves go curvy (probably beacause of vehicles passed by). I like the colour and the foggy morning. An excellent combination.

Hi Alvin. Dang that's nice! It's so good for your colors having leaves that are full of color versus being brown and dead. It's also good how our pathway ends mysteriously. Very nicely done Alvin!

Seems to me I recall this photos posted in vertical format Alvin. I remember it well. And this position is just as nice as the other one too. Very nice fall colors and great perspective with the twisting roadway. I think the only thing I would have done is crop out that no parking sign. People should be allowed to park here to take pictures of the trees!

This is beyond nice, it's a stunner. The colours are unbelievable. The PoV which emphasizes the lovely curve bordered by the green, the trees leaning at different angles and the human figure in the distance, all combine to create a memorable image. My compliments. Klaudio.

L'image est superbe avec ses couleurs d'automne invraisemblables (peut-être un tout petit peu trop saturées quand même?) mais j'ai quand même un faible pour la version verticale sans que je puisse vraiment expliquer pourquoi.

We have seen this composition before from you, but still it looks impressive how you play with the bend and the fall colors on the path. The bending looks really good, perfect perspective created.

Hi Alvin,
Another fine autumn shot with a well balanced composition and nice use of the diagonal of the tree row to add interest to this stunningly colorful image. Its neat to see the fog in the background. Great work and TFs. Gerald

The colours just hit you in this, they are so vibrant. Then as we look through the trees we see the fog to add an air of mystery. A nice curved perspective too. Nice one.

I remeber your vertical posted image from thid POV and this one looks great too.Wonderful red tones and a nice atmosphere with the fog in the distance. The person walking in the distance makes the composition perfect.

The green field really gives the color of the tree, cleverly composed, this is an other of your great visual national poems of Canada.

HI Alvin,
I can't really tell whether I prefer this one or the vertical version, on that one the format puts more emphasis on the path curve perspective, which I like, and there are plenty of nice red colors to see, so it's also a good one.
Have a nice day JY

Terrific colours. Definitely a strong spacious feel to it. Seems like this colourful tree gallery is warm and secluded from the rest of the park, which is grey and chilly.
I'm falling in love with Nikon more and more...:]

hello Alvin,
I have enjoyed browsing your gallery.
I am impressed! I particularly liked this shot for its POV, its composition and that inceredible colour! The quarter circle of track, drawing the eye with it, also helps to really make it so special!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Many thanks for your warm feedback on 'Goodbye Grassington'.

Bonjour Alvin,
Regards.
Daniel.

I just have to comment on this simple but magnificent photo. Your station point with the circular sweep of the perspective of the road and putting just right amount of area inside your frame makes a very stable composition. The color is there. Nature made it, but your keen eye saw the beautiful separation of the red leaves by the blue green color of the fog and the horizon. I prefer this than the vertical format previously posted.

G'day Alvin!
Great mood with this shot - the saturated color of the leaves against the muted, misty grass and trees in the background. I guess late October/early November is the best time to capture the fall colors in Vancouver, eh?
Best wishes,

Hi Alvin,
It is wonderful the way you framed & captured the curve of the path, the lone walker, the carpet of scarlet leaves, and the contrast with the green; while the foggy atmosphere puts the shot WAY over the top. One can almost feel the cool damp it makes everything so real.

Lumière et couleurs extraordinaires! Jolie compo bien équilibrée. J'aime beaucoup la petite brume à l'arrière. J'aurais personnellement enlevé le panneau pas très joli au milieu de l'image.
Amitiés et salutations.
