[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Lansdowne is a quiet and peaceful low altitude hill station in Uttaranchal in Pauri-Gadwal district. It is the HQ of the Garhwal Rifles, a well-reputed division of the Indian army. Thanks to the army and the forest department, the surroundings retain forest cover of silver oak, birch and low altitude pines. The army bungalows and private residences are decoraded with multitude of flowering plants and a feast to the eyes. There are no "must see" places here, but visits to a couple of churches and an army museum are worthwhile.

The route to travel (from Delhi) is via Meerut, Najibabad and Kotdwara (the last one literally means the gateway to the hills) and is approx 250 kms. Lansdowne is also connected to Haridwar and Pauri.
