Photographer’s Note
From the pastures and highlands that surround this Tibetan outpost in Gansu. These guys come into town rarely - but notice the mobile phone.

Hello Caleb,
I love this shot of the two of the two men positioned at the outer edges of the frame, somewhat reminiscent of Northern Renaissance paintings where there is always a deeper story, but it is left up to the viewer to decipher. The cell phone phone of course is universal, and most likely a permanent fixture of civilization far into the future. The colors, resolution, and of course the composition and perspective collaborate like the instruments of an orchestra. I am impressed by the exotic places in which you dwell.
Again, about the telephone, please don't worry about critiquing this poorly frame image, but take a look at another image celebrating the Indispensability of the cell phone.
Warm regards,
Bulent

hello Caleb,
This one is right from a movie ... the look of the man, the very nice compo ... and indeed, his mobile ! :) strange world , like an anachronism there ! this are images that not a lot of people will see in real ! so, we enjoy and want more ;))

you have a very special way to catch the colours. It's not a question of the camera (I have the same). I love your colours and your portraits. Beautiful image, Nino.

Hi Caleb,
With this one you have really fallen in my category of pictures of people , I am just fond of these exotic interiors, restaurtants, cafés, or other meeting places. I wish I was around with at the moment you took it.. What do I see on the table ? A cell phone perhaps ? Are they already very common in this part of the world ? Probably yes.
I wish you an excellent Sunday - Izzet

Hi Caleb,
A very interesting situation portrait. I like a lot the contrast between the traditional image given by these peoples and the mobile phone on the table. Another reality of Asia...

Pierre

Hej Caleb
Like the "Happy new year" poster at the back! it gives a certain flavor to the image.

hello Caleb,
interesting picture. The mobile phone is surprising and of interest but my curiousity lies behind the curtained door way. Compositionally these two fugures make a path that leads us to the curtain....but what is beyond. i mean that both literally and figuratively.
The colours are good and I like the way the man on the left looks beyond the photographer, as if his thoughts are elsewhere although he is aware of your presence.
regards
bev
