Hi Kristine,
another fine NYC shot of yours. Wonderful light and colors, perfect clarity.
I hope for you they'll be able to fix those Vista issues in the next future, but since the moment Microsoft hasn't been able to come up with ONE single reliable operating system in the last 10 years, they most certainly won't...
Get Apple and be happy ever after!
Have a great day, I'll see you around.
Ciao,
Fulvio.

Hi Kristine,
Beautiful capture of the soft evening light lending varying tones to this vast urban landscape. The windows catch many diffeernt reflections. Does seem to be a very crowded island where the inhabinents refer to the rest of New York state simply as upstate.

Hello Kristine,
I like the shot, but even, your engaging note. I am very happy to learn a word of Latvian, "Vista," although there must be many many words accommodated through the information age. I would recommend a Mac. Three years ago when I purchased a new 17" Mac laptop, a friend sent me an essay by the Italian writer, Umberto Ecco. Mr. Ecco calls Macs the Catholics of the computer world, and PCs the Protestants (they can interpret things any way they want). I forwarded the message to a friend (a Nobel Laureate in Physics, who I knew also used a MacIntosh), and he fired back. "When the girls (daughters) went away to college, we sat them down, and admonished them. 'Date within the religion. Stay away from PC users!'"
Very good photo, wonderful note.

Hello Kristine,
this is what I call "the essence" of a city, a very nice composition and nice lines, even under this strong light.
Your choice of point of view gives a very good depth to this buildings and creates a superb effect of perspective.
It is very well seen. Brava.
Kind Regards.
Stella
P.S. You made me smile with your note about Vista, also my advice is to get an Apple, as my good friend Bulent wisely said.

hi there, kristine. really, composition is all windows here... excellent, warm light, with the blue-glass high-rise in the left side of your photo providing just the right contrast. i like the note and the publicizing of the latvian meaning of the word Vista. yes, "hen" operating system it is, sorry, folks at microsot, but XP was a much faster and more stable operating system. as to defection to Mac side: well... they don't live well with the PC's (catholics) that surround us. which means, that they are not an option for folks who do not work in a Mac environment. sorry about the distraction here. my compliments.

Hi Kristine,
I have to say you are very very brave using Windows Vista; I can't stand that operating sistem and I think Window Xp was much much better and the old Windows 2000 was better too! That's why I decided to switch to Mac and today I have to say I am sooooooo happy!!!!
About this picture; NY is always beautiful, maybe the most beautiful city in the world, with the snow, in the fog, with the sun, rain...but I have to say the most beautiful pictures of NY I've seen so far are the one with this kind of lighting, very soft and gently. It's very nce to see this block of buildings kissed by this beautiful light which allowed you to get excellent details, very well visible, and beautiful tones and shades.
Very nice picture.
You have yourself a wonderful sunday Kristine.
regards
Igor

Hello Kristine,
Interesting, very interesting pov. The tight framing works very good, but most of all those very colorful different patterns in the buildings. The repeating layers create their own depth and the light is just amazing.
Excellent work, i like it alot.

Hi Kristine,
I'm not sure how I got to this one now. Think I saw it under the critiques written of Henk Meijer and now I see it comes out of your gallery and I already commented one of your photographs yesterday.
Hahaha, and taking some time to read the note I now surely stay with my old and trustworthy Windows XP Pro. Nice work. :-) So I'll stay away from Vista... Was thinking to install it just to try. But thanks for the tips.
Maybe we should all switch to Mac. But then again I don't have the money for that. Have to agree with one comment that Windows 2000 was also better (as in more stable) than Windows XP. The Home edition of XP is by the way worse than the Pro version I have.
Nice note. :-)
Greetings!

Hi Kristine,
Yes, this is Windows Vista surely.
Beautiful light on the building of Manhattan at sunset, created wonderful work with super-fine detail. Colour saturation and composition are also excellent.
Stunning work!
