Dear Anellise,
Light...light, light and light...that's what it all about in photography.
You have created a beautiful example how to control that light and use the light in a really wonderful composition.
Most people have no idea what light does with a photo and all of them should use this one as a study...it's really good..!!!
Next time raise the aperture to a higher number, will help you more with the ultimate sharpness from the foreground to the background.

I almost thought this was a b&w photo thanks to the heavy contrasts but then I saw a tinch of blue in the sky. The fantastic depth, the wispy clouds and the mix of light and shadow have made a very dramatic photo.

This a fabulous shot that I am adding to my favourites. The sky has a lot of interest with very strong contrast between blacks and whites. A nice off centre road that curves in such a way that our eyes are drawn in.

WOW .... and darn it. I missed the invitation! Now it is simply to late. The meeting is starting tomorrow and I can't make it from California to Romania in such a short time. Besides that this road doesn't give me felling of safety to get there quickly.
Have a good trip to homecountry (?) and a great meeting. Loking forward to see shots of this meeting at the same stupend level as this here.

Depends on my mood...
I mean, when i see those frozen lands, sometimes i want to come, and sometimes i do not. The wilderness attracts me, but i am afraid of freezing my limbs. Anyway, the PP is giving the best result here, to attract our eyes, and the sharpening resulted fine, in order to give the crispiness of the frozen land. Very impressive loneliness, as if the photographer is lonely there, only with her God....

Hello Anellise,

I bet you enjoyed taking this photograph! The absence of colour for the most part, aside form a few blue hues means you had to rely on patterns, shapes and textures to convey your message. It is a sublime work of imagery, combining many attractive elements such as the tracks on the road, the softness of the moving cloud cover and the subtleness of the snow. To make a delicious meal you have to proportionally combine the right ingredients for it to work, and here, all the ingredients are in place! Very well done, this photo is a delight.

Hi Anelise, this is going to be surely one of my favorites. Crystal clear details although there are some small halos from the sharpness method you used. Strong points the clouds and the white sharp road. Weird atmosphere almost unreal, I would like to see the original to meter the level of processing.

What a fabulous shot! The road leading away and the clarity of the snow-covered landscape are great, but those clouds! They're magnificent! How did you pull that off with such a short exposure? They look like they were exposed for a couple minutes. Great shot.
