[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This small room carved in the rock was for many years the home of Daniil the Hermit, who lived in the 15th century. St. Daniil the Hermit was a contemporary of the Moldavian ruler St Stephen the Great (1457-1504), whom he counseled many times. He lived the last years of his life at Voroneţ, and was buried in the church of this monastery in 1496.

The church at Voroneţ was built in 1488 (with a porch added in 1547 at the order of Metropolitan Grigorie Roşca, who also ordered the painting of the exterior walls), on the site of a wooden church, which used to be the hermitage of St. Daniil and his novices. The current church is now known as "the Sistine Chapel of the East" for its frescoes, especially The Last Judgment on the west wall.

St. Daniil the Hermit and Metropolitan Grigorie Roşca are considered the spiritual fathers of Voroneţ. Their portrait is painted on the south wall left of the entrance.

See the inside of Daniil's cell in Workshop.

Numai bine,
Lucian

Hallo Raluca!
Long time no see! ;-)
This is an interesting and somehow impressive photo! It's incredible what men can do because of their faith! In combination with your note and the additional photos a very good contribution in the sense of TrekEarth! Thank you for showing!
Greetings from cold Germany - and have a nice weekend!
Frank

Buna, Ralu!

I'm gladly giving you two points for this posting. Beautiful POV in this picture of St. Daniil's cell and a very informative package along with the note and the workshop photos: a perfect job for TE.

TFS
Iulian

PS What are those lines in the foreground, power-line shadows?

Hi Raluca

This rock house looks like it came straight from the old Flintstones cartoons. Good sharpness & upward pov. Congratulations!

Hi my friend
Great capture of the Daniil the Hermit home.
I like your POV, details and how you managed the light. Excellent colours
Best wishes
Aires

Bonjour, Raluca,
Philippe

Hi Raluca,
Now that's a funny house, must have been quite a bit of work to carve this rock !
Other than that a well exposed and luminous photo.
Have a nice day JY

Servus Raluca,

Cat de frumos! Incredibil cum au sculptat casa in stanca! Imi place foarte mult cum ai incadrat constructia facand-o sa para ca este mai sus si scarile care urca la ea! Culorile sunt excelente si detaliile se vad foarte clar! Multumesc!

Pa pa,
Eddie
