[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Rhine Falls (Rheinfall) near Schaffhausen in Switzerland are Europe's equivalent to the Niagara Falls. 150m (450ft) wide and 23m (75ft) high, the average water flow of 250m³/sec - peaking in Summer at 600m³/sec - make them the largest plain waterfalls in Europe.

I had spent a miserable night in Zernez in Graubünden (Grisson) probably caused by a bad chicken salad in the evening. A slow recovering the next day took me to Vierwaldstätter See where Hotel Post in Bouchs had embraced me with a good nights sleep.

With regained confidence I decided to leave the road often traveled (i.e. via Basel) and go via Zürich instead. This led me to Schaffhausen and a nice rendez-vous with the Rhine Falls after 28 years.

That time my wife and I had gone on the small boat to the rock in the middle of the Falls. Standing in line and taking turns at the top just to feel the great power of the rushing water was simply overwhelming.

"Been there - seen it - done that!"

Hi Kaj,
Very impressive shot of these falls. The PoV from high above is more original than the usual from downstream. The people and boat give a good idea of the scale. Well done.
Kari

Hello Kaj ,
nice to see you back on TE. It was a long time....
Beautiful view of this falls. Not the popular front view.
I like it better.
Well done.
Salutations
Jacques
