I had the opportunity to take a short day trip to the Denny Creek area near Snoqualmie Pass in Western Washington last week. The weather was terrible, however. It rained the entire time I was there (a good three hours) and didn't let up till I left (Murphy's Law). But the scenery was beautiful - golden leaves strewn throughout the woods and especially near this creek bed that I found not far from the Denny Creek Campground.
I hobbled my way around the woods and splashed my way through the creek bed to a little outcropping of rocks to get kind of an overhead view of the creek running downhill. What I like most about this image is the clashing of the stream flowing downhill and the chaos of the leaves lying every which way. |

I don't think the stream and the leaves "clash;" I think they make a lovely combination. You've slowed the image enough that the water looks more like vapor. The color is great and the diagonals are well placed. Nice shot!

I like this verical shot better than the horizontal earlier post because of the clear diagonal line from one corner to the other that concentrates the drama, if you will. You have great equipment, skill, and the CS3 makes it all happen digitally. Congratulations! Your frame is perfect with the deep green finish. I wonder what type of tree those yellow leaves are from? a type of maple?

A nice water feature, autumn leaves, saturated colors, etc., etc. I like the composition with the stream meandering through a field of leaves. All of the technical data is spot on the money. Bravo, well done!
