[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Grass in sand dunes with a strong wind from the sea. An attempt to photograph the wind, or at least evidence of it's presence. As the air scurries over the grass it bends and highlights reflect from it and the colour disappears so thought b/w was the best way to show this movement.
Maybe too many clouds in this one but worth a try.

A remarkable image with fine tones and lovely composition. The textures are superb as well. I like the overall quality of the image and the superb sprawling impact it creates through its hues, pov and perspective. Nice photography indeed.

Hi, friend!
It is very interesting artistic photo. I like your composition. Good white and black photo. Interesting all nature. Well done.
Marek

Hey Dougie,

I almost fell out of my chair when I opened it. I could almost feel the wind. Excellent capture, it really tells a story even though its still life. The black and white still has enough tonal change to evoke great emotion. Very well done.

Cheers,

Mel

Wow Dougie,
excellent b/w compostion. Amazing mood. Light and Shadow are very well balanced.

Hi Dougie,
Very nice! Excellent use of B/W! Can feel the grass through the screen. The amount of clouds are fine!
Well done
Regards
Paul

Hi, Dougie,
this is wonderful!! It looks like those scenes on the Discovery Channel where the clouds fly by at an accelerated rate. You can almost FEEL the wind. I like the way the clouds (or something) make shadows on the grass and B&W is perfect for this. Oh, this is TOO cool. Thanks and warmest regards,
Shelly

I can feel the wind and the wildness.
Well done

Wow Dougie, this is truly espectaular, I know!, it`s simple, but amazing, it has an end to the world feel to it, most of the times a simple picture tells us more than a clutered one and this wins it for me, well done and thanks for sharing, regards, Salas

hi dougie
first class b>w imagery
great feel of the east scottish coast here
only fellow scots could appreciate a snell wind
it has a 'they came from out of the wind' feel
very dynamic
god bless

ps there is the expression
"I set my mind to know wisdom and to know what is crazy and foolish. I saw that this also is like trying to catch the wind."

Amazin landscape and atmosphere. Wonderful composition with BW choice.
greetings,

figen

Hi Dougie. A simple-looking but breathtaking shot converted expertly into B&W. The slower shutter speed has allowed a bit of movement in the grass - whilst retaining the detail that the narrow aperture brings to the party. The polarised sky (not over-polarised) adds to the drama. A real gem. Regards, Paul.

Hi Dougie,

incredible, stunning, view! Excellent B/W use, very nice contrast and details

Wonderful composition. B/W gives an attractive dimension.
I don't think there are too many clouds : thanks to their different colours, they find their place in the picture.
Well done

Man Dougie, that is a cool A$# B&W. Almost looks like an infared shot. So, SO, dynamic. The choice to convert this to B&W was the right shoice and it shows in the perfect blending of tones. The grass lends a wonderful contrasting texture to the pillowy clouds.
Good to see such growth in you photography.
Chris.

Hi Dougle,
Beautiful,congratulation.
Best regards,
Ralf

Stunning Photo along w/ some others in your gallery

artist finger :)
nice picture

Hey Dougie,

I truely like this picture of yours. I can only follow the other comments upon the quality of both the picture and your skill. My impression is: DANGER. This might come from the rather dominant dark and strong contrast. I wonder what the picture would look like if you lighten it up.

Anyways, great work, this is only a comment, not a critique.

Take care,
Tobi

HI Dougie,
Excellent photo! Is this a digital image or did you use a film camera?

I love this shot. I can't nearly feel like I'm in the picture. This is a dynamic picture, and I think the B&W is a good choice. Good POV too.
Regards
Alexia

Hi Dougie,

You managed to capture a sense of the organic whole in this image: sky, grass, clouds all seem like a natural extension of each other. Beautiful and stunning black-and-white, shadows, and sense of movement.

Bravo!

Hi Doug
You did a fine job here and the clouds also add to the movement effect of the wind.
Great B&W.
Phil

Hello Dougie,
Dramatic b&w composition, effectful pov. The clouds are very threatening.
Greetings,
Henri

I my god! this picture is awesome. black&white is much better than color in this case. the picture has so much dynamic. the contrast is perfect.
michael

Great perspective. Good use of RoT. The polarizer works well. Have you ever tried a red filter for this type of shot? TFS.

Cette photo ferait une bonne pub pour whisky !!
Amicalement.
Georgy

I would never had made this photo BW, but it looks awesome. Nice work.

Excellent photo very dramatic the choice of B&W is a very good choice.

This picture remind me of a quote from Jesus “The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound, but you don't know where it comes from or where it is going.” John 3:8

Thank You for the beautiful picture.

Gilbert
