Casablanca,

الدار البيضاءCasablanca (Spanish for "white house" ; Amazigh: Anfa; Standard Arabic: الدار البيضاء; Moroccan Arabic: dar beïda) is a city in western Morocco, located on the Atlantic Ocean. It is the capital of the Greater Casablanca region.

With a population of 3.1 million (3.8 million in the "greater Casablanca" (September 2005 census), Casablanca is Morocco's largest city as well as its chief port. It's also the biggest city in the Maghreb and the sixth biggest city in the entire continent of Africa. With a majority of the modern economic sector being based in the Casablanca region, and the Casablanca area being dominant in industrial and service sector activity, it is often and justifiably referred to as the economic capital, although Morocco's political capital is Rabat. It is also the primary naval base for the Royal Moroccan Navy.

Casablanca is the leading city hosting headquarters and main industrial facilities for the leading Moroccan and international companies based in Morocco. Industrial statistics show Casablanca retains its historic position as the main industrial zone of the country. The Port of Casablanca is considered as Morocco's chief port and as one of the largest artificial ports in the world.It is also the largest port of the Maghreb and North Africa

Η Καζαμπλάνκα (από ισπ.:casa blanca = λευκός οίκος, αραβ.:الدار البيضاء ad-Dār al-Bayḍā) είναι μία πόλη στο δυτικό Μαρόκο, στις ακτές του Ατλαντικού Ωκεανού. Κατοικείται από περίπου 3 εκατομμύρια ανθρώπους (απογραφή Σεπτεμβρίου 2004). Η Καζαμπλάνκα είναι η μεγαλύτερη πόλη του Μαρόκου, καθώς και το μεγαλύτερο λιμάνι του. Δικαίως αναφέρεται συχνά ως η οικονομική πρωτεύουσα της χώρας, καθώς το μεγαλύτερο μέρος του οικονομικού τομέα βασίζεται στην ευρύτερη περιοχή της Καζαμπλάνκας.

Είναι η κύρια βάση του Βασιλικού Μαροκινού Ναυτικού. Η Καζαμπλάνκα φιλοξενεί τα γραφεία των μεγαλύτερων βιομηχανιών του Μαρόκου αλλά και πολυεθνικών εταιριών. Η πόλη ιστορικά βρίσκεται στην βιομηχανική ζώνη της χώρας, σύμφωνα με τις στατιστικές τις βιομηχανίας. Το λιμάνι της Καζαμπλάνκα θεωρείται το μεγαλύτερο τεχνητό λιμάνι στον κόσμο. Είναι επίσης το μεγαλύτερο λιμάνι στο Μαγκρέμπ και σε όλη τη Βόρεια Αφρική.

You captured very nicely the pleasant sunset atmosphere of that cafe terrace over the Atlantic, with the relaxed mood of the local couples. The lines of the terrace , the coastline, waves and warm tones make a very photo.

Here is a really beautiful place to take a coffee. Magnificent atmosphere returned by these long waves which occupy all the bay, the city in the bottom and these two couples taking advantage of this charming lighting.

what a lovely place to sit and watch the sea. I'd like to be there also. Very well thought composition with the terrace and people in foreground with ligth and shadow on them followed by the wide view on the ocean. I hear the waves in their excellent sharpness my friend.

Και ποιος δεν θα ηθελε να παει στην Casablanca,μεχρι τοτε ας απολαυσω την φωτογραφια σου!Εξαιρετικα χρωματα και φωτισμος και ατελειωτο βαθος πεδιου!Πολυ σωστα εβαλες και την σκηνη σε πρωτο πλανο,γιατι κατα την γνωμη μου ολοκληρωνει κατα καποιο τροπο την συνθεση.Μπραβο και το σημειωμα,συμπληρωνει αψογα και αυτη την πολυ προσεγμενη δουλεια...

Olá Danos, I remember this atmosphere when I visited this unique city, many years ago. Great compo with a splendid placement of the two couples turned to both sides of the view. Beautiful light at the end of the day and nice depth while our eyes discover the lighthouses in the far distance.

I see that you use a filter on this lens Danos, give this better result?
This camera and lens are very well, I use never a filter alone a protection glass

Απο ότι βλέπω, πολύ δημιουργικό το ταξίδι σου στο Μαρόκο.
Εξαιρετική αποτύπωση του Μαροκινού τοπίου, πέτυχες να δώσεις με ακρίβεια την ξεχωριστή ατμόσφαιρα που διακρίνει την περιοχή, όπως τουλάχιστον την φαντάζομαι, άν και δεν έχω πάει.
Εξαιρετικό καντράρισμα και υπεροχα χρώματα έδωσαν πραγματικά ένα άριστο αποτέλεσμα.

Hi Danos,

I like this one, since it shows a cultural difference with what we are used to. But wearing headscarfs, being muslim does not mean that you're at home looking after the kids (only). Having worked in muslim countries myself, I was often positively surprised by the freedom I sometimes saw there was for women. Then again, I was also most of the time in contact with liberal muslim men.

By the way, I was going through your gallery. And since the last 2 gallery pages, your photographs became overall more saturated! Why is that? Did you buy a new filter set?! ;-)
I like that by the way. Let the colours show themselves!

A romantic setting... Beautiful photo, the beach front of this city is nicer than some parts of the medina which has such a bad reputation these days (and a special feel, I experienced 2 years ago), due to terrorist acts - but we are so far from that here : nice subdued colours, everything so quiet and soft...
