Don't look now, but we're probably a month away (or less) from winter in the Western hemisphere...
This is how Grayslake, Illionois looked like last winter. Pristine, peaceful, almost melancholic but definitely scenic - this is less than 20 miles from the Wisconsin border. Photo here is a house inside a fenced ranch that is covered with snow on a relatively sunny afternoon.
