Photographer’s Note
Phew, that was too long ago again.. I just wished I could concentrate enough on TE.
A photo from the day after we arrived on Paros. We drove to Naoussa on our scooter. This place is a lovely harbour, in general Paros is a lovely island with all it's white and blue. I feel Paros has the most white and blue buildings, the other islands I've visited also use some other colors, like green on Amorgos and red on Mykonos! More on that topic later!
This is taken with my wide angle lens, the Sigma 10-20.
Problem is; you want to catch a lot of things in the frame while shooting from, for example, a close distance. I was really close to this nice low church, situated next to a square, here. I tried to captured the whole church, still 10mm was not enough. Unfortunately it was enough to take in things I didn't want to be in the frame, such as the scooter on the left.
There wasn't really a way to work around that, in my back there we're chairs of a restaurant.. This square is loaded with chairs for the evening dinner, so no other decent POV available in my opinion.
Just wanted to add a shot and here it is :) it has been to long again :(

good shot this is emiel - if you ignore the cut bit of the church on the bottom left and that piece of chair on the bottom right:P - and the wide angle adds a lot to its charm...

Hoi Emiel,
Long time, no see :-)
Maar leuk weer wat van je te zien hier, en dit is een hele mooie foto. Mooi contrast dat witte huisje tegen die prachtige blauwe achtergrond. En een leuk detail, de kat die die man volgt.
Goed gezien!

Hello Emiel,
nice saturated colours and light, are the two characteristics of Greek islands in Summer.Excellent perspective and POV of the church. The including of the walking man in the shot, adds life in the scene. The sharpness and the clarity are unique.Well done my friend.
Have a nice weekend,Danos
PS Have you ever eaten octopus with ouzo?

Hey, Emiel, you still exist! That’s good news!
Very nice, classical and well executed Greek postcard shot.
I’m a bit disappointed by you though, that you do not like octopus.

Hi Emiel!
Nice title for this great photo! Nice diagonal perspective and composition and beautiful colours. You have a slight problem of distortion, caused by the wide angle lens, the mans seems "unnormal", very short and fat but you can easily fix it in PS. Besides that, a great job! Congratulations!

Hi Emiel,
Love you control of the white .. wonderful wide angle composition .. I love the surreal combination of closeness and width .. on the scooter .. to my eyes it works .. it takes this building out of a mythological history and places it in reality .. welcome back by the way ..
take care,
John

Hello Emil,
Wonderful clear contrasting white and blue colors adorn this simple but effective image. The cat following the man and the flag fluttering in the wind are very charming addtional elements to this fine poto.

Hello Emiel
A typical Greek island's photo you have uploaded here.
I like the POV and the amazing colors.
The old man also helps a lot in the atmosphere of the picture.

Hey Emiel,
I myself isn't active as well here in TE. Just posting but no time to critique as much as before. Its been awhile the last time I critiqued you. Anyway just dropping by to see what's in your gallery. Despite having a wide 1-20mm, I think you could have stepped back but I think this works fine with me. My view rotates or goes around the church, the 'dynamism' of the old man and the dog makes it work.
All the best ;)
Jom
