Photographer’s Note

For Nuer people in western Ethiopia, as for many indegenous societes in the World, cows are everything - they provide food, clothing and pride.
People here don't use modern ways of saving money - like in banks, they keep their cattle instead. If they need anything, they sell a cow and buy what they need.

The smoke is used to keep mosquitos and other bugs away.

Hello Antoni,
A wonderful picture from this Nuer village. Along with the note it is a very informative photo. It shows the ever important cows, the construction of huts, the smoke, the sparse vegetation - all in the very soft and warm colours of late afternoon (or maybe early morning).

It is a great photo with excellent saturated colours and a good composition. It is amazing to see how they live with all the animals around their huts. Looking at your gallery it seams that you tend to over-saturate your pictures but they also look very nice. Well done.
