The nargile (water pipe) man is serving his fresh and hot coals, when the former ones are gone cold...

The nargile (water pipe) cafes of Tophane are perfect places to unwind whilst sipping on tradition Turkish drinks and playing tavla (backgammon). Most popular treats offered are apple flavored water pipe, hot apple tea, and Adana Kebab Durum.

In Turkey, nargile is done on a social basis, usually in one's home with guests or in a cafe with friends. Most cities have nargile cafes where nargile is offered with a non-alcoholic drink. This is mainly for health reasons rather than religious reasons. Often people will smoke nargile after dinner as a replacement for cigarettes. In bigger cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Adana, restaurants may have dinner & nargile specials which includes meal, beverage (alcoholic/non-alcoholic), Turkish coffee and nargile. In certain parts of the country people use nargile cafes to watch popular TV shows, national sports games, etc. and smoke nargile to socialize.

The easiest way to go to Tophane, is to use the Tram. Head for Karakoy and get off the tram at Tophane stop.

Yaa ben bu adamı tanıyorum :D hyasar nilgun cem handan birlikte foto turunda iken fotoğraflamıştık üstelik nargile içip poz vermişti..:D Çok keyifli bir gündü hatırlattığın için çok teşekkürler renklerin karede dağılımını sevdim ayrıca...

Or was it a similar café ? Tophane...
Anyway, I like your version of it, why do you complain about the dull colours of Turkey I wonder, here I see gold, green and warm red in a cosy atmosphere - I miss Istanbul now !

This is an excellent usage of ISO 1600, with perfect definition and very good colours. The tilt contributed also for the great atmosphere shown on the picture. Well done.

Arkadaslar ben ikinizin yuzunden pimpirikli olup ciktim. Gren nerede burada? Ben neden goremiyorum? Cok mu kotu bir ekranim var, anlamadim. ((( Neyse...

Uzun zamandir boyle bir renk cumbusu yollamamistin. Halbuki ben sana boyle civil civil Istanbul manzaralarini da cok yakistiriyorum. Ankara'nin nispeten renksiz atmosferinden sonra bu fotografin canliligi, eglencesi ve sicakligi cok cekici gorundu gozume. Eline saglik, tebrikler.

Deniz,
the absolute best capture of the whole ambience having a turkish coffee and nargile. The scen is very colorful and provides the idea of some fancy, non stressfull moment of relax kicking back in the pillows. The tilt gave an additional element of dynamic that makes it a very shot.

I feally like the tilt here because having experienced it I can sense through the image the liveliness and chat and bustle of such places - I kind of wish you weren't just about to have a camera pointed back at you because it takes a little away from the naturalness of the shot but the sense of simple contemporary opulence comes through very nicely........a place to socialise and relax......and to my surprise I must say on seeing all those screens - to watch sports!!!!

nice the smoking of nargile that i see in this snapshot.In my last visit in Morocco before a week,i smoke nargile and i'd like to tell, that it was a nice experience.Your shot is very characteristic about this and as i see, the couple is enjoying it.Well done my friend.

farklı bir yaklaşım ve renklerin çarpıcılığı içinde çok güzel bir kompozisyon.bakış açın değişik ve harika.ISO 1600'de sonuç bence mükemmel biraz grenli ama fazla etki etmiyor ayrıca keskinlikte çok iyi elinize sağlık.
