I'm not so sure to post this blue city view of Jakarta because the picture's quality is not too good, but let me tell the story behind this photo.
In the last couple days i'm so crazy to wake up in the morning every 5 am jogging from my house to the old Tomang bridge (it takes only few minutes / 3km from my house) and waiting for sunrise picture with the Jakarta landscape as background but unfortunately it always clouded on this rainy season, so maybe i must be patient waiting for that moment. Despite this picture not the one i'm hunting for, i still like this blue athmosphere around.
You can see an interesting small boat on foreground, this simple transportation for crossing people on each sides. I will be back to this bridge and still hunting the beautiful sunrise, wish me luck :-)

Thanks for visit, all critiques are welcome
greetings from Jakarta

Hello Daniel,
A moody low light capture!
I like the well balanced composition, with the river as a fine lead-in...
Interesting skyline, where the powerline is an eye-catcher!
Greetings,
Pablo -

I don't have a problem with the image quality, Daniel. Maybe a little extra sharpening would be a good idea. You've captured a nice atmsophere here with the high-rise building sin the background, and the murkier homes beneath, bathed in a rather fine blue light!

Hi Daniel,
Nice picture good POV
May be litte dark but good
I hope like my WS,

Hi Daniel,

Hahaha, this picture shows exactly why I didn't like Jakarta while being in Indonesia :-). The streams throughout the city are basically health risks for the people living around them. The city is jammed of traffic from 8:00 - 22:00, the smog already visible here, the urban planning is poor to non-existent, high-tension, middle-tension, low-tension lines, commercials etc ruining the view - so if there would have been a clear sky without smog, you still wouldn't be able to get a decent depth in a picture. ;-).
Yeah, I loved the fresh air I'd breath when coming back from Jakarta to Medan where I lived :-).

Greetings! Dennis

Hello Daniel,

The time is well defined , and the tones act the drama...
Excellent.
Salutes, dear friend.

Hello Daniel,
what a great effort you do to try taking some beautiful sunrise shots. Hope you will be lucky with your hunt! In the mean-time this shot captured is very nice and interesting with this morning blue, covering the city. The pov chosen is very good and the boat included adds balance and more interest to the pic. Well done, my friend! Tfs and best wishes.

Hello Daniel
A good low light capture. Your photo paid for your efforts of waking up early, because you've captured the lovely colour of the sky. Yes the boat in the FG is an eye catcher. This is a good cityscape, moody and real. Well done!

Angshu

Hi Daniel
An urban vision quite overloaded with elements and showing a good variety of buildings, the boat at the bottom is a much welcome element to add life to this view
Have a nice day JY

Hi Daniel

I like the muted sunrise colours, & superb reflections, graphism, & silhouettes. Good sharpness & overall viewpoint. The blue monochromatic colour works well here. Bagus sekali!

Hello Daniel,

Indeed this is a very difficult picture for to evaluate.
The blue colour tones are exactly smoke or fog about the city.
You did nice for us to show the problems about the city.
Thanks for sharing.

I wish you a nice weekend,
John.

Hi Daniel,
As you may have guessed, lately I am very fond of these dark images. The only thing I regret a bit on this one is the noise, but it isn't enough to disallowing it being wonderful. Maybe a wee more of details on the dark houses on the right wouldn't be bad also.
Very well chosen POV, beautiful colours.
Regards, José

Daniel,
an outstanding mood that you captured here. The early morning hour gave you the right light and backdrop. The inclusion of that little boat in motion in the foreground is very good and in my eyes that is the element that makes the whole shot start to really work.

Belle photo de cet endroit qui s' éveille, belle prise légèrement bleuté ou les lumières douces viennent éclairer la ville doucement,Bientôt, le soleil va généreusement remplacer ces éclairages.Belle douceur, beau coup d' oeil.

Hi Daniel. The image may be a little soft but the colours and the composition still make this a pleasure on the eye. When you do get “the” shot I expect it will be quite something to see. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Bonjours Daniel
Je crois que cette photo de Jakarta est la première que je vois, elle est très jolie de nuit et ce batiment dans le fond est très grand et imposant.jolies couleurs et légèrement bleutée cela ajoute au rève qu' elle fait ressentir.Amitiés

Ciao Daniel ,
nice sunrise of Jakarta , warm colors , it happens to wait for rising of the sun and being disappointed from clouds.
but fortunately you have constructed a photo from the delicate colors, that they create a beautiful atmosphere.
Giorgio

This is a shot full of atmosphere. It is well composed and I don't think the quality is as bad as you think. Nice one.
Best wishes

Hi Daniel,

The POV is very good and the colors as well. Its a little too soft as you saw, but its good you posted anyway. Its a different view form Jakarta. Good luck with your new hunting

Hi Daniel,
We are lucky to see this image!
I like it very much!
The predominant blue, the waking up city - it is really beautiful!
The composition is very well chosen.
Thanks for sharing,
MC

Hi Daniel!

Beautiful, fabled atmosphere in this wonderful shot! Great composition, great light managment. Congratulations!

Hercules

Hi Daniel,
Actually I think I like this one better than your current sunrise? post. There is great contrast between the futeristic towers and buildings and the tiny houseboat moving across the lagoon.
HLJ, Pat

Hi Daniel,
Good pov to show a the modern city and resident quarter on the bank of river, dim color to show the early morning atmosphere, thanks for sharing.
Ally

Hello Daniel,

Jakarta seem like a contrast of new and old. I see modern buildings popping out beside older streets with more traditional architecture. Good early shot with nice colours and good details. The river definitely look great here. Thanks.

Roberto

Hello Daniel,
I was glad to discover your gallery, there are very interesting and good photography. May be from the latest this one I like the most, because of the special, morning mood and the gread colours of the sky. But as Dpbours wrote, the atmosphere over Jakarta really seems with hard smog.

Hi Daniel

Great Note.
Sometimes I think we should just ignore the points and post some bad photos and learn a thing or two about the mistakes? We will learn quickly from that. I do appreciate that some photos are really great and they deserve scoring high points, that is the spirit.

...and it is 57 points, still counting, so who complains?

TFS, cheers
bill

Daniel,
The little house against the skyskrapers makes a great contrast.
Larry

Hi Daniel,
With nature you have to be patient. It would be nice if the weather forecasters can also predict if it will be red skies or not :) Interesting blue sunrise ... a good reward for waking up early. Intersting story indeed to accompany your posting. Well done! tfs
Cheers,
Renier

A nice moody picture of a new day in Jakarta. I like the contrast between old and new, and the bluish color is beautiful too!

Hi Daniel,
One can really feel the tranquility of the moment... the city still awaking. Old and modern city fused in that calm... Always a magic moment.
I also wish you an excellent year, in harmony and in good spirit.
Andre

Good picture with great sunrise atmosphere, beautiful blue tones, beautiful reflection into the river too, well done Daniel, compliments.
Ciao

Hi Daniel, nice city landscape with amazing light and sky.

TFS and regards,

Hello Daniel,

Until now I was not sure what the Jakarta skyline looked like. Nice story behind it. It must be hard to find some good lighting in the height of the wet season. I had the same problem in Thailand. Although the image is not as crisp/sharp as it could be, it still shows us a good slice of the city and the many canals and rivers that run through it. A tripod and longer exposure may help a lot here, even if you just rest it on a level surface. You have a good gallery; I will have to return tomorrow. :-)

Matt

Apa kabar Pak Daniel? Yup, this is the Jakarta I remember. Nice shot of a city that's starting to wake up and the use of the river as part of the daily life in Jakarta. Looking forward to seeing more street life scenes like the becaks, bakso stalls, cewek-cewek, and etc.

astonish presentation Daniel!!the light here is super and the pov of the foto make this place magic ..!!!!my compliments..my frend
