Waterfall in the Wood of Cree.

Dull, grey weather has it's compensations - the flat, diffused light is perfect for photographing the little details in a landscape, like this waterfall for example.
Taken during a short walk through the Wood of Cree, a nature reserve near the town of Newton Stewart. The path makes it's way through some beautiful woodland, beside tumbling waterfalls and cataracts.

Hello Ben,
Beautiful fall colors add great contrast and give almost a 3-D feel. I like the tight composition around the waterfalls. Probably needed some more depth of field for the foreground. I'm also suprised by the hideous CA. Regards,
Hakan

Hi Ben
Beautifull work with the law speed on the waterfall.
Excellent sharpness.
Well done
Bertrand

Hi Ben,
A nice seasonal colour combination! Nice water effect..Cheers, Léonie

Hi Ben, light is a bit tricky here of course but the exposure is very good with the nice long shutter speed, a must for waterfalls, and pretty leaves on the fg rock. Maybe somewhat oversaturated though...

Cheers
Alexander

Hi, Ben.
Fantastic shot, it is technically perfect.
I like very much.

Hi Ben,

good to see your fine gallery again after so long away. I like this shot and I can appreciate your view on dull days for picking out detail as I took a similar shot recently and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome, I may post it soon, (but I'll make sure there's no tilt!) As for your shot, I like the leaf strewn rock in the foreground, the long shutter speed makes for a silky finish on the water and it has good sharpness. I would guess that the fall is about 3 or 4 feet high? No matter, it's a fine capture and well spotted.

Regards

Stephen
