Photographer’s Note
Taken on a recent rainy trip to Scotland. It really is a breathtaking castle and I don't think this shot does it justice. I decided on black and white to give it a little more atmosphere.
Eilean Donan (Scottish Gaelic for Island of Donan), is a small island in Loch Duich in the western Highlands of Scotland. It is connected to the mainland by a footbridge and lies about half a mile from the village of Dornie. Eilean Donan is named after St. Donan, a celtic saint martyred in the Dark Ages.

The composition is very nice, it's well balanced. I like your option for a BW image, it really fits the scene properly.

excellent choice here using B/W .. it adds to the ruggedness of the landscape and makes the sky as moody as the weather .. I have watched the weather forecast for W Scotland and boy have they had some rain .. you made good use of the cloud break for this superb capture Fiona
