Sunset in Cairngorms
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This photograph was taken on early evening over Loch Morlich in Cairngorms National Park. The loch is home to a watersports center with kayaking, sailing and windsurfing to name a few of the activities. There is also a yacht club and great cycling routes around the loch with fantastic views.
It was raining most of that day but suprisingly the sun came out for a wee while. Minutes later many people from camping site went for a nice, evening walk.
Trees in the middle are small part of Glenmore Forest Park and in the background you see Cairngorms and maybe even Cairngorm Mountain Railway on the left.
The Cairngorms feature the highest, coldest and snowiest plateaux in the British Isles and are home to four of the five highest mountains in Scotland.
The Cairngorm Mountain Railway is 2 km long and the highest railway in the United Kingdom. It is a funicular railway that ascends the slopes of Cairn Gorm, the UK's fifth-highest mountain (in clouds on this photograph). |

I love Scotland - it is such a beautiful country. This picture just reminds me of how lovely it is. I like the layers of green and the slash of sunlight across the bottom. I'm going to try a workshop to bring out some more details in the foreground and clouds, while keeping the great contrasts you have.
Clouds and landscape are very good, the only "but" perhaps people on the sand, too much light in this corner of the image, too high contrast.
But the scene is a great one
Hi Matt,
Nice wrok, the pov is very good, however the foreground is a bit ober exposed, if you use RAW files you could easily correct this.
Best wishes
