You are a great streetphotographer. No doubt to me. I sincerely wish you can once go to China and capture such strong moments.
This portrait in incredibly strong and expressive...everything is in your way of looking to the world around you and reveal it to us (poor blind walkers).

Very different kind of angle here, I really like this shot. The black and white suits this photo perfect as well. Hopefully you make it to China sometime, I went once and I would definitely love to go back. As a street photographer myself, I never found a public more open to having their pictures taken.

This is the type of inspiration and awe I am looking for when I go to TE. You can see the man is happy raising its head towards the sun. Happy like anybody could be. Its also the 2 guys in the background looking away and not so content. You have to take whats there and whats good, and even if its there, you could miss it...

Hallo Artur,
Misschien droom je ervan ooit naar China te reizen, maar met deze foto is het net alsof je er al geweest bent! Niet dat ík China al heb bezocht, maar deze foto geeft uitstekend de sfeer weer die ik met dat land associeer.
Prachtig in beeld gebracht portret: de uitdrukking op hun gezichten is sprekend, de nuances van de huid komen mooi tot uiting en de schaduwen vallen goed. De close-up maakt het geheel alleen maar sterker. Als fotograaf heb je kennelijk een groot inlevingsvermogen.

Artur, this is SIMPLY one of the best portraits I have ever seen on Trekearth. Not less than that. No useless monkeying in front of the lens, a take that empowers the subject, not the photographer, plus a fantastic background with a guy on the left who could well be Gengis Khan's grand grand nephew.

The light falling down on his face and the square format you chose makes me wonder whether you haven't been influenced with Xavier Lambours flashed portraits, taken with a Rolleiflex.

Probably the only thing you may improve (in a very minor mode) is both a warmer and a more contrasty layout, check my WS (which doesn't add anything, to be frank...it was more about my pleasure to work on that fantastic photo.)

With that one you're nothing less than giving lessons about portrait photography. Softly with your own style, no bragging, no tricks.. and don't worry : all the roads lead to China. ;)

Oooooooooh! (And when I say "Oh!", I mean it!) I like this photo. I don't know exactly why, it might be the point of view, the posture of this man - head up, looking away, with a nice smile - but somehow I find this photo quite "positive". The kind of photos that makes me smile and be happy to live. It gives me the desire to get up and walk proudly and with determination towards... my future! :))
The two figures behind are good too, though I am pretty sure that if they were not there it would work too. I might have blackened the white "patch" just in front of the first guy on the left part of your photo.
I like the version of Luko for what he has done of the skin tones. The features are more visible and the light is better controlled. But I prefer your lighter sky, though there is some posterization in it.
I like it very much Artur! Keep shooting!

Brilliant shot, Artur (I just checked and it says you are all of 18 yrs old!) - you are not stuck to any sily conventions and here you hit on the mother lode, you got in real close, distrtions and all and... made Antwerp DISAPPEAR! (tant pis, tu m'excuseras mais Anvers, bon...) to reveal a myhtic CHina that is as strong as and perhaps more real than the real thing.
