[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Voronstov Palace, in Alupka, near Yalta. Voronstov was a general who controlled Crimea during the late 1800's. As you can see by looking at his palace, he did very well for himself while "looking after" the Crimea. This is actually not the only palace that Vorontov built, there are others, but this is the most famous. The style is a very strange combination of English country house inside and Indian castle on the outside. This is where Winston Churchill stayed during the famous Yalta conference with Stalin and Roosevelt in February 1945.

Witaj Alvin!
Very curious detail. Good frame and colors. I like the light and sharpness. Well done.
Have a nice sunday
Krzysztof

Hi Alvin,
I like the intricate details and the sharpness with which your image presents this statue. I also like the angles from your low point of view rendering the spires heavenward into that deep blue sky. Nice work and TFS. Gerald

Hi Alvin! This is a little different for you and I like it! The extreme angle attracts the attention initially but then there is more to it than that like the sharp details in the statue and architecture. And of course, that warm saturated sky.

TFS

Hi Alvin,
I like the way you framed this to get the castle tower against the blue sky and an angle of light that really shows the detail in the lion. Interesting note as well.

Hi Alvin,
Bright, very bright colour toning and i like that in combination with that deep blue sky. Your pov with tilt is well choosen, brings some dynamic inside the image and the way how you placed the lion in the framing is really good, nice focal point and depth...well done.
Regards, Henk

Hi Alvin. I'm impressed you fit that much in without your wide-angle. I love the fact that you left the perspective in there for some added fun with the lines leaning in like crazy. I'm usually afraid to post pictures like that because I figure I'd have everyone complaining about it! ;) I like how close you were too. tfs Alvin.

Hi Alvin
Ukraine ? This must have been a huge distance from Vancouver which is at other end of the world. Many thanks for posting this good architectural picture, where, the light, the sharpness, and the elegant composition combine all to form a lovely one.

hello Alvin
that's a good architecture shot, with good, very good POV & framing, the light is excellent, fine colours, good job (:D
regards
jo

Hi Alvin,
Good POV. It creates a fine composition of this appealing place. The4 touch of green in the corner is a subtile addition.
Regards, Gerrit

A good composition to enhance the look of the photo. Fantastic low point of view makes the perspective very dynamic. Well done..

A nice POV that includes the Indian style doorway and the bit of greenery on the left.
Good DOF. Everything is sharp throughtout.

Well being from BC I think I am usually drawn to the photos you have posted from the Ukraine. Upon looking at how you composed the lion and background palace I would have to say that all these elements are very nicely arranged in the frame for the most dramatic impact. Also the position of the lighting is superb as well.

Very nice Alvin!

Hi Alvin

I like the upward pov & marvellous blue sky. Good sharpness but some slight oe in the highlights. The lion is well framed by the arch though, & tfs!
