Photographer’s Note

Amid the modern and decaying buildings of Varanasi towers this magnificent and proud Mosque. although it is completely blocked and hidden by the rest of the buildings, and its best days are obviously behind us, its charm and power is still presented and felt very well.

Many marvelous buildings and sites in India are doomed to similar fate of being left neglected and unappreciated. I'm glad Trekearth is helping in giving justice to these buildings and places.

you have indeed captured the 'charm and power' of the Mosque. and, in my opinion, i actually think the decaying modernity provides a great foreground! nice vibrant colours too.

Very nicely composed... the buildings in front add the the interest of the domes and towers, just by the way the two contrast.

You are right, many buildings in India lie in a state of neglect and are completely ignored. Thanks for taking a picture of this one.
