Photographer’s Note
This past August I did some hiking up Mt Baker. This was my first summer up there and I found the scenery in this park simply stunning. I am going to restrict my postings to a series of photos that will display the wonderful beauty of the Mt Baker park area.
This was taken August 5th with still abundance of snow on the mountains. The snow on the road up to Artist Point was cleared just two weeks earlier. The lake on this side of the table is Bagley lake. The trail leads down to the water and then across a bridge to the other side. The trail leads up to the top table ridge that you can see included in the workshop. Once up to that table you can see a wonderful view of Mt Shuksan behind you and also Mt Baker. This was one of the confusing things I learnt about Mt Baker. And that is you will never see the Mt Baker peak unless you climb to the top of that ridge. Once you get up there a wonderful panorama view ( a later posting ) opens up before your eyes. Although I did hike many trails this past summer I would have to say that Mt Baker offers the hiker some spectacular views of alpine scenery. This photo is just the start of the Chain Lakes Loop. Enjoy!

Hi Paul,
As I look at this shot I can feel the rush of cool air sweeping through the valley as evident from the water surface. Amazing place and beautifully captured to allow me to totally enjoy this scene. Excellent clarity and lighting control. Splendid shot!!

Very beautiful locale, and I like how the river leads into the lake. It was a very beautiful day, and I am surprised by all the snow even in August! No signs of human influence at all, gorgeous nature shot.

Hello Paul,
This is a gorgeous photo, I especially love the saturated colors in the sky and the trees. You've really captured the clarity that comes with mountains. Thank you for sharing this,

Hello Paul.
Back to your forte - the breathtaking landscape, sharp as a tack. Beautiful shot of this alpine scenery. A beautiful range of greens and superbly exposed snow under a deep blue sky. I look forward to the later uploads.

Beautiful colour and clarity here Paul. I like the POV as it includes the collection of rocks in the lower right with,I presume, a stream running out of the lake. Well done. TFS.

Beautiful scene! There is nothing quite like the mountains in the summer, when the snow is gone. I've been to this place a few times and this shot really shows what it's like there - the rocky cliffs and the small lakes. Great colour and clarity, well done!

Hi Paul, This is an amazing scene, the lighting is superb, you have managed to contrast the worth of the brilliant blue sky against the snow covered hill sides, picture postcard, I could sit all day & admire, kind regards Wilson.

Paul,
so beautiful... Those shades of green in the rocks and the water are amazing. I love the texture of the lake too, your composition is impeccable, wondrous light, it's all sharp as a razor, all on that deep blue as a canvas.
Compliments.
