Photographer’s Note

As the sun was setting we where walking along the trail on the ridges of the Grand Canyon. We decided to stop, open a bottle of wine and enjoy the ever changing colors.

This National Park is one of the jewels of America.

Wow - this is stunning! I like the use of framing with the tree silhouettes... though I think I would prefer to see just the one on the left not the tree on the right. Rgds, Leilani

Hi Paul,
Refreshingly different shot of the Grand Canyon. This one gives room for the sky too. And dry desert trees give natural framing on the foreground. Low setting sun picks highlights on red rocks.

Ah- I'm jealous Paul!

I've yet to visit the Grande Canyon, but look forward to the opportunity one day.
You've done a SUPERB job in setting this shot up. Finding just the right tree to silhouette against this gorgeous scene. Well done Paul...
My only suggestion would be a pin-strip (2 pixel) black border before the white to give a clean break between photo and frame.

C'est sur le moment doit etre assez magique !
J'aime aussi cette coloration des rochers et les silhouettes sombres de premier plan mettent bien cette lumiere en valeur par contraste, joli nuage aussi.

Bonjour Paul,

Très belle photo de ce lieu très connu.
Il y a deux points que j'apprecies particulièrement sur ta photo:
1/ Le cadrage est different de ce que l'on voit habituellement (la presence des arbres est une bonne idée).
2/ Il y a de la douceur dans les couleurs: habituellement les couleurs sont souvent très dures, tres plates.

Cette image est vraiment "Canon"
Très bel apprçu ce cette merveille de la nature.
Les silhouette d'arbres agrémentent parfaitement ce paysage préhistorique.

Allo Paul,
Juste un petit mot sur mon heure de lunch. J'ai raté celle-ci, je ne sais trop comment. J'avais vu la précédente du Rouge et Or, mais moi tu sais... le foot... :) Ce matin, chez ma dentiste, je regardais justement des photos de l'Arizona dans une revue et je me disais que ça devait être une expérience inoubliable de voir ces paysages incroyablement majestueux. Et ton image décrit justement ça : la majesté du paysage... Et ça doit être encore plus impressionnant avec une bonne bouteille de vin! :)))
Les couleurs sont chaudes... et je rêve...
Pendant ce temps... au travail... :))))

This photo is EXQUISITE - I get chills looking at it. The combination of shadows, low sunset light, the trees in the front, the cloud formations - all put together beautifully and captured well.

It goes on my Favorites list.

Le coucher de soleil met le feu sur le roche et le premier plan correspond bien a la végétation qu'on peut imaginer dans ce genre d'environnement.
Et meme apres une bouteille de vin, t'arrives a prendre une image comme ca...

Salut Paul,
Merveilleuse photo prise juste au bon moment alors que le soleil jette ses derniers rayons sur le grand Canyon. La composition est excellente, les silhouettes des arbres sont superbes et les couleurs fantastiques. La ligne d'horizon est légèrement inclinée mais ça n'enlève rien à la beauté de la photo.
