Photographer’s Note

I continue to "feast" on my wonderful memories of our recent trip to Canmore, Alberta. This shot, taken over the Bow River in the townsite of Canmore in the late afternoon, gives to me a real sense of the gorgeous place it is (maybe this is like an unpaid commercial). I am hoping all TE'ers that notice my work will not be bored or get tired of this place, because there a few more images yet to come. TE really is a wonderful family!

A wonderful perspective of a fantastic scenery. The colours are so richly saturated that the picture gets slightly dark.

I am almost falling asleep, Gerald! In fact it wakes me up :) This is a beautiful scene you have caught, and I like that you left some of the tree hanging in, something I always forget, to have a little forground, but I also like the little path we can follow not to speak about the mountains in the back with the already white tops. Wonderful shot! The colours are magnificent, especially the contrast between the blue sky and the yellow and orange leaves. I also like the way you used the tree branch coming down from the top right to balance the photo. Nicely done, and I can't wait to see some more!

what I can say on this wonderful landscape, that you have caught skilfully in your frame. Only that I will try to know this place someday.
The quality of the image is very high, the low light of the afternoon is magnificent and the autumns colors in this vegetation have an excellent chromatic and aesthetic effect.

Great capture with nice warm and vivid colors. İt's a real feast for our eyes. Nice snowy hills and the river flanked with autumny colors. I would not say a postcard but maybe a leaf of those famous swiss calendars!

Hi Gerald,
Another stunning Alberta mountain landscape. How wonderful to be able to stroll this gentle path and have a modern town ono your right shoulder and these magnificent snow capped mountains over your right shoulder. The sky is perfect and the mountains amazing as the pretty Bow River flows gentley by. The colros are very clear with razor sharpness to this lovel landscape.

Hi Gerald. Wow that's some impressive landscape work there! Your well chosen POV really enabled the river to be used as a leading line as good as you could hope to utilize it. The mountains and sky are of course spectacular and I like the way you filled in empty area on the right with your tree. Well done Gerald!

Hi Gerald, yes a fantastic place and a good light to take it, the framing here is very good with the perspective of the river, two trees on the left to provide a "departure point", the bridge as a focal point, and the natural frame on top. Add to this this mountain range from the left and you will get a great composition!

Hello Gerald,

You managed to capture the two main mountains around the town of Banff, Mt Rundle and Cascade Mountain. This point of view is excellent because Rundle is not so dominant. The river and bridge seem to balance the image very well. Light was on your side to get the best in colours and details. Lovely shot :-)

How could we be bored by the glorious scenery you are showing us. The evening light is perfect for showing up those autumn colours. You have composed the image well with the river used to lead the eye into the scene and the tree on the right doing a good job as a frame. The perspective of the mountains also adds to the dynamics of the image. Just keep them coming!
