Photographer’s Note

It was late afternoon, red sundown 7:45, driving on the road E90 Ankara to Aksaray, returning to Nevsehir-Göreme.

Izzet stopped the car, seeing a lonely green leaf tree in a yellow field.
I stepped out the other site of the car bumping in to this leafless tree in front of the vast Salt Lake, Tuz Gölü called in Turkish. Vast indeed, with its 80 km lenght and 50 km width, providing 70% of the need for salt in Turkey with only a 30 cm thick salt layer dried out in summertime.

Night we arrived back in Göreme after a drive of 5 hours, tired we went to bed.

This was one of the first view when we arrived in Capadocia by nightbus passing the vast glowing dry landscape here early morning. No the bus didn’t stop then.

Ik zie dat je je nog steeds Turkije foto's zit te posten, naar het schijnt een mooie tijd gehad aldaar. Je fotografie spreekt in ieder geval voldoende, vooral met deze opname die vol zit met pastel tinten. Zijn vaak deze eenvoudige composities die het maken zonder teveel overbodige elementen in beeld.
Mooie kleurschakeringen, wat harder in de voorgrond met langzaam verloop naar zachte kleuren in de achtergrond...

Salut Henk,
belle compo, mais je trouve que tu as un peu trop forcé les couleurs.
Je la vois bien avec des couleurs plus douces. Alors... je me suis permis un WS, maître.

It is an amazing landscape. The dead tree seems a hand toward the sky. Maybe the colors are a bit too pushed up, but the overall effect is very good.

What a strange picture from you, Henk!
Nice work.
I am following you in your tour in Turkey! Because I want to see what are you doing when you are discovering a country as everybody of us does when travelling: you usually show Tamil people that you know very well, now at last you are amazed by a new fantastic landscape and also write the title under the picture!
A very good result!

Layers and layers its simply great I love it. The various lines of colour and texture are wonderful, and of course the lone tree just tops it all off to make a wonderful composition. A simple yet very effective image.

Henk, this is breathtakingly beautiful... would love to see it large on a nice wall... and dream...dream of soft colours and lonely barren trees that still come alive with your lens. I wouldn't be surprised to see it blossom tomorrow. This is magic.

Good composition and deep in this landscape.
The colours and light are nice and you made a clever work: the tree is at the left and you create a good atmosphere in the photo.
