Photographer’s Note
The Anish Kapoor installation at Chicago's new Millennium Park.
This is what you see from the street at an angle as you approach the Millennium Park. You see this humongous mercury-like blob rising from the ledge. It's freaky and it's beautiful. I have posted the full view of this sculpture earlier so you can have an idea how the whole 110 ton sculpture looks like.
This installation is named "Cloud Gate" because it reflects the sky and everything else around it. It is an interactive sculpture which people can touch, view and photograph their reflection - and you can even go under it, also to view your twisted image.
It is a magnificent and clever piece of architecture and certainly would attract many visitors to Chicago.
Tech: brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, resize, unsharp mask.

I love your picture. Great composition. It look like the rising of another planet behing the crowd. Good job.

Hey Ken, I just commented on a photo by weiphoto of this same beautiful structure, but he said it was called the "jelly role" Maybe it has a couple of names...don't know,
Anyway I like your interpretation of the scene here...looks like the "Cloud Gate" is growing and growing and growing (like the blob) and is about to catch the unknowing tourists by surprise...ahhhh :)Very nice
~Stacey
