Grande Rue de Pera Photo

Photographer’s Note

After a long time, I can post another photo. This is again from Istanbul. This street is one of the oldest streets. During Ottoman period it used to be called "Grand Rue de Pera" but after the republic has been formed its name changed as Istiklal (=Independence) Street.

Long time no see...
It is a nice picture of daily life, I like to see people on the street as well as a sensible transportation system. You seem to have chose a cloudy day to even out the shadows, which in that case is a good idea.

Nice shot, very casual. The tram looks nice and nostalgic. I would aim the camera a bit lower to avoid the large part of the overexposed sky on the top left.

Very nice, Seda. Very good street shot. The people, the trams, the buildings all are nicely placed in this shot and sharing the image harmoniously. It's easy to imagine all the sounds that go along with this photograph and be easily placed into the scene. Good job.

What a lovely tram (street car)! It looks like summer or spring, but the tram still has the Xmas decoration, that's funny. I like the lady in the middle, she is a good character. Keep on posting, Seda, its always a joy!

good shot....but i think if you had let the tram pass and had taken the picture of its tail..it might have exposed the background more strongly along with the tram picture...its my opinion anyway:)
did u stop people :)while taking this picture because this street is so crowded...and please tell me what is it on the top left of this picture??

To be honnest, when I look at this picture, the first subject I look at is the nice girl in the front, with a very volunteer walking movement, then I see the young man looking at the girl ... Then only comes the tramway, very stylish. This tells a small story behind your picture, which makes it quite interesting.
