Photographer’s Note
Mount Kidd with its reflection in Wedge Pond. The north (middle) and south (left) peaks of Mount Kidd stand just a bit below 3000 m tall. The Wedge Pond, situated right by Highway 40 and surrounded by aspen, is a classical year-round destination for photographers. Around here, the foliage season is usually in the second half of September and of course I missed it again this year. As you can see, a few yellow leaves still hang onto the branches, just enough to provide a spot of color for the picture, but most of them are gone already. At the short end of the zoom I barely managed to fit the mountain and its reflection into the frame.

Hi Roland,
Very beuatiful, naturally looking colours captured obviously on a bright sunny day. The water is still and clear so the reflection appears very realistic. Only the narrow strip of the forest in the middle reminds us of an autumn time.

I wonder how high Mt Kidd was millions of years ago. Its base is definitely huge! I like the view you show us here. I have never been to the Wedge Ponds but I see what I have miss for so long. Nice colours and details and he reflections on the water add a nice touch to the view. Thanks Roland.

Roland, Great mountains and great reflections. the trees act as a nice divider between the two and add a bit a colour variety to the image.

Hi Roland,
Fantastic shot of these beautiful mountains. The calm water helps with the mirror like reflections which are amazing! I love the lighting, the colors and the details in this photo! The few yellow trees along the shoreline is a nice extra! Great work, Roland!

This is one beautiful reflection Roland. A balanced layers of reflections. While the mountain range and pine forest is engaging enough, the reflection just makes this scenery, distractingly inviting.
Merry Xmas Roland

Perfect scenery, I like how the textures at the bottom of the lake are visible in addtion to the mirror reflection, and despite being a mostly conifer forest, there are pockets of decidious trees that add colour.

Roland: so many different genres on TE - which is one of it's strengths, yet I find the community has grown almost unmanageably large. Regardless, some really fine stuff still finds its way to being posted. Great canvas here - almost perfect - perhaps just a hair over-saturated - but you had a polarizer. regards, c

Your shots tend to fluctuate between amazingly good (this one) and not so good. I think you have a real talent for landscape photography. The reflection here is pin sharp and the whole image is wonderfully framed. Simple yet very effective.

Hello Roland,
I think you did your best! The light management is great and the reflections terrific! I wish you to be luckier next time in capturing the colour you want. The place is so beautiful! I may understand the happiness of the photographers visiting the area.
Many thanks for this presentation.
Best wishes,
Athanasios.

This is one of my favorite reflection spots in the Rockies. The autumn colors look great here and the polarizer really brings out the blue sky. Great side lighting on the mountain too.

Hello Roland
This is a superb mountain capture, the blue skies and the detail from the mountain is spot on. The green and golden yellow from the trees against the reflection is a huge bonus. Wish I could have seen Alberta in the fall.
Well worked
