[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Jibla is a gem of a town just outside of Ibb. You can either hire a taxi from the main intersection of Ibb for about 300 Yemeni Riyals, or wait for a share taxi to fill up for 30 Riyals each person. It is definitely worthwhile, as the old town is very vibrant.

There is a great market that you can catch in the morning, and this is where I caught this boy eating grapes. I will post a couple more of him with different expressions, as I thought it was priceless.

I snapped away, and he chomped away un-deterred.

I also enjoyed his snazzy suit jacket.

An absolute winner with immense texture and contrast control and some great nuances of a portrait. lovely pov and a superb moment well captured

Hi David,

That's a very pleasant portrait! The boy nicely stands out, though I am surprised about the wall behind him being so sharp with f/2.8!
But a very nice capture. You were passing by there during a holiday, or you're working there temporary? I'm wondering because your note is written like you know the area better than a normal bypasser. (Which is a compliment) ;-)

Greetings!
Dennis

hello, david! i like this type of environmental portraits. some people say that the background in these is "too distracting", but hold the belief that they tell the story about the subject. so, i like the detail on the door and the background wall, while sharpness and light on the boy's face are perfect. i agree, his expression is priceless. thanks for sharing.

regards,
kristaps

david

precious portrait, this boy is very well shown here, we can feel his mind divided between to give attention to the grapes or to your camera. very nice light, sharpness and colors

Hi David

A very lovely portrait. I can see a beautiful smile in his young eyes.
I like how he has a stain on his right cuff, yet the label blatantly visible on the right.. I guess he is a trend setter first and foremost?!

The colour of the door compares well with his football (?) shirt; the old and the new. The green of the fresh grape against the paint splash on the wall. Big buttons on a little-man's jacket.
Beautiful!

Casper
