Photographer’s Note
another shot from the Catskill Forest Preserve, taken from the same spot as this one
I've always liked the bright yellow colour of the road markings that seems to be chosen precisely because it goes so well with the fall colours. may be that's the reason the road was so inviting that Sunday...

A very nice autumn shot Kristine, and you're right - the yellow road markings do make a great echo of the autumn colours.
You took it in great light, and the long shadows add to the appeal of the shot. I also like the way you have the road markings leading in from the corner.
It would have been good if you could have had somebody riding up the road on a bike or motorbike (a car would have spoiled the mood of the image), but you might have had a long wait!.
Good work.
Cheers,
Ben

I love how you positioned the lines in the road and how the trees with all their color over-hang. Reminds me of Robert Frosts poem "The Road Less Traveled", which is my favorite.

Ah, yes, Spruceton. Can't get a better example of a secluded valley only a few hours from New York City.
Beautiful shot.

Lovely fall colours and yes it does seem like the yellow road markings have been specially chosen for this time of the year. Sharpness and light are magnificent, and I love the framing.
All the best,

Hi,
You have some really attractive autumn shots but this would be my favourite. I think you're right about the road lines. An enticing view indeed. Thanks.
Dougie.

Hello Kristine,
Wonderful light management makes for very clear chrisp autumn colors and gentle afternoon shadows along this back highway who's double yellow line adds beautiful depth to this very relaxing country landscape. Your only about 60 miles south of my home in the Albany area.

Hi Kristine,
Your photo is perfectly framed with the yellow line creating a strong diagonal through the wonderful light and golden fall colors. Thank you for the honor of selecting me as a favorite.

Hi Kristine,
I wonder why this is image has only 22 points. I also wonder if I will have time to visit northern USA in the autumn :)) The image is simply great. You made great use of the road and the surrouding vegetation in its yellowish color. There is a nice touch of you regading the post-processing...don't know what but it makes the image to look like a painting. Beautifully well composed!
Regards,
Carlos
