Photographer’s Note
Hello Everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying the weekend. The weather in Lancashire has maintained the bright warmth of an Indian summer and we are all grateful for this after the disastrous summer.
Today I am posting a photograph that I took yesterday evening. The day had been bright and sunny so we went for a late evening walk at the foot of the moors. The starlings were soaring in twilight flocks, the swallows were dividing the sky as they swooped for midges and a single hawk was hovering for supper. The sun was low in the sky and illuminating the autumn colours on the trees. These colours I have tried to capture in the photograph. They are just as I saw them!
Thank you for your visit. I hope you enjoyed it. Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the shot.

Hi Beverly,
I like this layered composition of the trees and hills in autumn. I like how one hill dips to the right, contrasted by the background hill. This type of landscape looks very similar to what can be found here in my surroundings.

Hi Bev
This is nicely composed and framed and you had nice lighting. Indeed, a beautiful scene. I would have perhaps boosted the contrast to make the shapes and colours stand out more, but this is definitely a personal preference and I know is not to everyone's taste. What do you think Bev?
With best wishes

Hello Bev, aren't these warm autumn evening simply wonderful? They make up for that dreadful summer. This is the best time of day, when the sun paints the trees gold and there is a nice reflective quality to the bird'song.
You ahvecaptures all this well. And your note is lovley too, quite poetic.
regards
Bev
