Photographer’s Note
Most would find this shot completely worthless. I myself find it very intriguing. On my trip to Versailles I saw many fantastic pieces of art, architecture, landscaping, and extensive exhibits of exuberant wealth – which you’d expect in the lavish castle. However, on my way out the items that really caught my eye were the individual tiles on exit from the complex. These tiles were made of cross sections of wood – something you don’t see every day – actually never. My photo is not the greatest, but it was a drab day and I am equipped with only a digital elf, but the appearance of these tiles was truly amazing. They appeared to be amazingly resilient. I could not tell if they were old, or merely replaced periodically.

Hello Klint,
No it's not a worthless shot. It's a quite good observation of a fine pattern. However, with some basic post-processing such as sharpening, adding some contrast and saturating the colours the picture could have been considerably improved.

Hello Klint, you make an error: Versailles is not in Franche Conté but in Ile-de-France !
Bonne soirée
François
